Awh, I didn't know that. Yea I'm drum major right now as well as section leader of the drumline. But my "co drum major" who is also a year younger than me gets to do EVERYTHING and likes to "pull rank" on me and I'm just like... No. I'm supposed to be conducting a parade today but he apparently is so that's the final straw. I'm quitting =/

Aw. That stinks. I was one of two drum majors my senior year. The other girl was a sophomore but since we were both first year DMs we pretty much kept the ground even even though I was considered the senior. I thought about auditioning in college but had such major issues with the director that I decided against it.

Have you tried talking to the other DM or your band director?

Yea that's the thing, we're both first year drum majors too but he just thinks he's so much damn better than me.

I haven't yet, but I'm definitely not talking to the DM about it because he's an ass who just thinks he's totally right in everything, but I"m talking to the director Tuesday and I'm basically going to say, "Look, I like marching band and the new instructor. But if there aren't some changes made to my drum major position, I'm quitting marching band and drumline. Along with me, you will lose three of my closest friends, this losing half of your clarinet section and your only french horn. So..."
