Things have started going wrong.
Things are tense in the house. After the housemates kept me and Ste awake all Friday night, we had a word with them about it on Saturday evening, saying we don’t mind them having people round as long as it doesn’t get too noisy and it stops at a certain time. They said that was fine. And then they had a party that was even worse than the night before. The problem is, our bedroom is right next to the front room so we hear everything. Music, guys singing at the top of their voices for hours, girls laughing. Apparently it could be heard down the street so we aren’t complaining about nothing. It was awful. But they’ve basically said that we’ll have to put up with getting little or no sleep at least one night a week because they want to have parties, end of. As much as I don’t think that’s fair, I can also see that not agreeing to let them do that wouldn’t be fair either. Sometimes I hate being fair. But I guess majority rules. Everybody is selfish in their own way. There are frosty feelings between us and them now, and it’s really uncomfortable.
There’s other stress too. For example - Ste got into a weird reckless state on Monday night, went out and got really drunk and stuff, and towards the end of the night some guy stole his bank card. He managed to get it back but before he did, the person somehow managed to withdraw £80 that Ste didn’t actually have in his bank. So now he’s facing overdraft charges of about £200. We don’t really have that money unless I don’t pay the rent for another month and just use that money to pay off his bank charges instead.
As usual, there’s other stuff going on but I’m not going into it. Siiiiigh.
