I’ve spent the past few days settling into my new flat. This involves constant walks into town to spend money. I’m splurging unwillingly - the baggage fee at the airport, the taxi fare, food, bedding, internet (£150 upfront for the year), and on Monday I’ll be handing over £180 for my course. I went to enrol today but they told me I have to take this test on Monday before I can actually get signed up officially. The college is slightly closer than my university buildings were, which is nice.

Anyway. Splurging. I’m not really spending any money that I don’t need to, but it still feels like too much. Last year I spent a lot of money on food, more than was necessary, because I can’t really cook so I depended on ready meals and stuff like that. My plan for this year is to be sensible, spend wisely, and get away from the ready meals and eat more proper, nutritious food. I’d like to learn to make basic meals for myself. I’ll see how I do. Cheese on toast is sometimes a challenge, that’s how incompetent I am!

So far there’s one other person in the flat - his name is Aaron or something, I think that’s what I heard anyway, and he’s from Hong Kong. He seems okay, but I can’t really judge because I haven’t seen much of him. I hear him more often than I actually see him. He talks loudly and is up and about at all hours of the night... that could get annoying.

This post feels babbled. I think I’ll watch something online, since I have very few decent TV channels here.

September 4th:
Taxi from the airport to my flat.

September 5th:
New tenancy agreement.

September 6th:
Alley... blurred because I was on the move. I've noticed that lately my pictures are looking kinda pixelated and low-quality. Hmm. I really want a new camera.
