And this is an update about a bar.
I am in Salamanca. I have typed that sentence so many times in the last forty minutes. I don´t think anyone really gives a fig where I am in Spain, since most people don´t know where Salamanca is. I didn´t until I got here. It´s northwestish, near Portugal, and is the oldest college town in the damn peninsula. The university here was founded in 1218, so it´s kind of like Oxford or the Sorbonne, or other really old musty fusty colleges. The architecture is really pretty...the art historian student in me had multiple orgasms when I went into the cathedral. It was haht.
I went to this bar last night called Luux with a few people from the program, only to find that thirty other people from the program had the same idea. We dominated the place. The drinks were cheap...€1 each, €2 after 1am, and they were strong! I must not spend all of my money on alcohol. Must not. Must not. I also have the sexiest phone ever. I thought they´d give us really shitty phones, but it was brand new and shiny. Mmmmm.
I´m in an internet cafe and lots of 90s pop songs are playing. The door is propped open, it´s windy and sunny, and there are two dogs playing in the street. I feel good.
The hotel we´re staying in is 4-star, which wasn´t necessary, but is definitely a perk. Good food.
Tomorrow we leave for Segovia, and then an 8-hour busride to Barcelona, where we´ll stay for 4 days. I´m fucking pumped for Barcelona.
