I've been looking at library job sites just kinda for fun and some of them are really bizarre. This one, for example, is at the "Conjuring Arts Center" in NYC, and "This position is ideal for anyone with an interest in special libraries, rare books, archives, and/or magic." WTF CONJURING ARTS.
Another one is for a Special Collections library at San Diego State University, and apparently their collecion's strengths include surfing, orchids, and Edward Gorey. Come ON. And most of these jobs start out at like 50 grand a year. Pretty sweet.
In other news, at work yesterday I spent all day at the Grand Free Mason Lodge in Raleigh, and apparently I will be in their next newsletter, haha. They were really nice, and they told me that they are exactly like the Stonecutters from the Simpsons. They can just open up their vending machines...no quarters for free masons. Oh yeah, we were there to pick up a collection they are giving to the archives.
Last night was a good, relaxing night. I rode my bike to food lion to get beer (blue moon pumpkin ale yo). Then I made crawfish etouffee (Emeril's recipe), and just ate and drank and watched Lost.
