So I was thinking to day that I would gather up the tribe and we'd hang around the 7-10 level troll grounds, looking for players who just got the game for Christmas and try to bolster our ranks. Hasn't worked out so far, partly cause I haven't yet actually spent too much time at it, and partly cause I didn't manage to gather much tribe.
On the other hand, I have, for one odd circumstance or another, ended up talking with 3 potential tribe members out of game today!
First, Casey e-mailed me last night to see what server we were on, and is seriously considering having troll rogue, reborn from open beta, be a Tuska.
Next was really weird. So here I was on AIM, talking with a Tuska, Melfuaru. And a message pops up from a screen name I didn't recognize, saying:
AIM IM with mistahtate

mistahtate: excuse me
sedesdraconis (me): Hello?
mistahtate: how do you know me?
sedesdraconis: Do I?
mistahtate: well, you've got me on your buddylist
sedesdraconis: Umm. If you say so. I don't see you on my buddylist. Who are you?
mistahtate: the real question is
mistahtate: who are you
sedesdraconis: sedesdraconis!
mistahtate: mistah tate!
At this point, since my reply starts to come out in Tuska, since I type in Tuska a lot these days. I almost corrected myself, but decided what the hell:
sedesdraconis: Oki den. Glaed fo wi get daet strait aut!
mistahtate: hey
mistahtate: do you play world of warcraft?
Ya. Ai TooSka!
mistahtate: ooohhh, what's your character name?
Kewohan, Aodhan and Weshindi.
mistahtate: yea, i've spoken to you before
mistahtate: and i finally have the game!
mistahtate: but i dont have the right system requirements.....
Who you?
mistahtate: i will be zazin when i get all this crap straightened out

Third, I called Kate today in Colorado. Her mother answered and I asked if Kate was around. She said, oh hi Aidan, she's in Bleeding Hollow (the server Tuska plays on). Turns out that the incredibly sneaky Kate was in the process of stalking me and joining my guild without ever telling me, until her mom blew her cover.
