*Nora* by me!
Soft whispers in the darkness
of her pinstraight black, black hair-
pale clearness of the gaunt face,
of the girl who's barely there.
Her voice is yet to speak a word.
Huge green glass eyes shine bright.
A child's seen, yet never heard;
she obeys all day and night.
I've never seen her smile,
or give a happy stare.
I've known her all this while,
And all she's done is glare.
Her chill is so contagious-
makes people look away.
She just can't seem to take this,
but this anger is to stay.
Dressing like a flower child,
her clothes don't seem to fit.
Homemade skirts with prints too wild;
Her pants too short to sit.
Freckles cover her soft glow,
though her glow is fading fast.
The smile that is hidden low
shows what is meant to last.
