How about a few work follies.
So a month ago I had to transfer one of my staff to another group - I wasn't happy about it, but we were slow and major job had just fallen through. (The person transferring wasn't happy either, but sometimes that's what needs to happen.) It's all good, she moves downstairs and I think everything is set.
A couple of days later, we get an email from their staffing liaison wanting delay the move for two months. The reason why? Because this person had a holiday booked and they didn't want to pay the overhead. Instead they wanted us to carry the overhead for the next two months and the cost of leave.
Seriously? She's your employee now. Of course you should be paying for her leave when she is in your team.
Then from the same special group - we'd been loaning staff to the group since November and we'd locked in a long term loan that was set to end at the end of March. About a week ago we won some jobs and so I sent an email to their staffing liaison saying - hey, these loans will be ending at the end of March and we're going to need our staff back then.
So you'd think that everything would be swell. Oh, hell no. First I am told that the loan is until May, not March. (um, no here is the email agreement.) Next we are being told by someone else that they are extending their loan until May. (um, no that isn't a unilateral decision and you need to ask) and then I am getting a talking to from my director because their director had been told that I was pulling back loans early. Uh, fuck no that is not even what happened.
So basically this person is on the dead to me list and I won't be helping them again.
