Look, I just can't read another two Seanan McGuire stories. Sorry, my brain just won't take it. So I'm going to cut my losses, read one and call it a day.

You've summed up my problem with "Fade to White" perfectly. It's very well done (I liked the commercial interludes, and I thought the characters were well drawn) but it's patting itself on the back a little too hard for a story coming out against something that pretty much everyone (or, at least, everyone in Valente's readership) agrees was a bad thing. Still, I suspect that it's the likely winner - either that or McGuire/Grant.

I'm sorry the Cadigan isn't online either, and that it hasn't gotten more attention in the lead-up to the award.
