Lacey Doodle

Today Lacey pup wanted to spend all day outside. It is freaking cold out now and when the temperature drops below 20 degrees F, my hands stop functioning, and my mouth stops being able to form any words other than "AAAAA" or "RRRR", which unfortunately the puppy interprets as "PLAY! JUMP ON ME! EAT MY COAT!"

Yesterday I went to Petsmart to get more poop-picking up bags and found a outdoor dog lead that I thought I could hook to our tree and the other end to the pup and just let her enjoy the freezing cold snow while I watch from the office window.

So, I hooked her up, made sure there was nothing for her to wrap herself around, and went inside to watch. No sooner than when I get to the window and I see that she has managed to hog-tie herself by turning in circles. She appears to be in pain or at least very sad and so I sprint, no coat on, cursing, back outside to rescue her.

After going back to get my coat, hat, gloves, etc, I unhook her and tell her to feel free to run around. She spends several minutes chewing sticks until I start with the AAAAA and RRRRR and then she becomes a psycho dog, running in circles, digging and barking into the snow. Have you ever heard a snow-muffled bark? It is about the cutest thing ever.

Now she sleeps next to my chair in her crate, in a little ball, dreaming, and, occasionally farting.

I love my little fuzzy pup.
