This past weekend was AMAZING! Seriously....SO much fun. I don't even know where to start. First my mom came into town and brought the baby cradle that I slept in when I was a baby. My mom and I went to the fabric store and picked out material for bedding. My sister is going to make it to fit the cradle--I can't wait to see it finished! We went with a teal and chocolate brown sock monkey design. Here is the cradle...
And John's mom came into town, too. She brought a couple baby treats also. We let Mandu try out the new Baby Bjorn and it is his new favorite place to sit. LOL! He LOVES it! He'll be confused when Jack gets here and starts using it instead.
On Saturday we did a little shopping and picked up the baby stroller. I had a melt down about not being ready for the baby and also about being frustrated with John. I'll post more about that later--it's worth it's own post. We talked about it and I feel much better, but, again...more about that later...
THEN....SUNDAY WAS THE BABY SHOWER!!!!
I had been excited about it for a while and couldn't wait to see what the girls had put together. I arrived at Kelly's mom's house to the most amazing sight--I had never imagined anything so beautiful and so perfect! I was BLOWN AWAY at the attention to detail and about all the thought and HARD WORK that went into planning this event! As I walked around and looked at everything--all the excitement they showed towards Jack--I felt so honored to be part of such a great group of friends. I really have NEVER felt so close to a group of girls in my life. I didn't have a lot of good girlfriends growing up--and kind of all through college--so I'm not even sure how to express the love and gratitude I felt at that moment. I am such a lucky person to be at this place in my life and to be able to have these people in it. I could go on and on about how great it felt to be able to share this excitement with them, but I'll get to the best part...the PHOTOS! These are from a combo of my mom's and my cameras, so they're really out of order...

Learning the ways of cake cutting from Kim:
This present was special because it's a blanket made by my aunt, who has made these blankets for every baby that's pretty much ever been born into our family:
This gift is a tiny Specialized bike and is also special because it really has a lot of do with my friendship with Lissa--she's always been an adventure partner of mine. Before I met John, she was the only girl I knew who I could bike with, hike with, travel with and etc. And now we still do those activities, but she includes John in everything.:
The grandmas:
And since I get to share this pregnant time with Kim, here is a shot of our two bellies (someday she'll catch up to mine!!!!! Prepare yourself, Kim):
Leaving with a vintage buggy:
The beautiful table details:
The desert table:
And seriosuly....the world's most adorable cupcakes!
Do cookies get any cuter!?
Beverages galore...
And napkins with vintage baby buggies to fit the theme:
Everyone loves a good food table (and one with matching paper flower adorning the chandelier is even better...)
No party is complete without favors:
The VERY cool vintage stroller where everyone put the presents:

What little boy doesn't need a pair of these!?!?!?!?

THIS is how good they were:
A better pic of the favors:
My favorite part of the decor...the cute "Jack" letters..
And...least but not least....me with the hostesses (and also the greatest group of friends a girl could ask for)!!!
So...that's that. Like I said, I feel SO lucky to be able to be part of such a great group of girls who not only make me feel loved, but who I can share so much with as well.
Thank you ladies for all your hard work--I had fun and so did jack! He is going to love all of his aunties so much!
And....I also want to thank Kristina again for making the treck up from San Jose to come and hang out with a bunch of people YOU didn't really know! It really meant SO MUCH to me that you came and celebrated the excitement of Jack with me!
Whew. LONG post! My mom is still here and we're just getting ready to run to Babies R Us again, so I'll post more thoughts later. My emotions have been running wild these days and I've got a lot to get out. I just wanted to share the pics!
(Whoooo hoooo... I think I finally figured out how to type things under the cut so that I don't take up so much room on your screens!)
