In honor of Ben Bruckner...
Next up in my QaF character love series: Ben! I admire all the characters on the show in different ways, but if I had to pick one of them to be when I grew up, it would be Ben. I have always wanted to be one of those calm, patient, accepting people who aren't easily goaded and don't sweat the small stuff. Maybe someday I'll be that person, but till then, I'll always have Zen Ben. :-)

He learns that being a parent means never giving up...
never being hip...
and being rewarded in ways you never expected.
He accepts apologies with grace...
and offers them with true humility.
He is by nature a peacekeeper...
who fights his battles without using violence...
but even he has a breaking point.
He looks beyond appearances, seeing the scared kid behind the cocky facade...
and recognizing the strength in the mildest of men.
He has worked hard to make peace with his disease...
hitting many setbacks along the way...
but if he's learned anything, it's that this is a struggle he'll face all his life.
He discovers that you don't have to go halfway around the world to find fulfillment...
and that happiness is worth pursuing, whether it's for a moment or for a lifetime.
