February Recs Challenge, Day 18: QaF Vid
I had a lovely day off today -- slept very late, ran a few errands, filed my income taxes (well, maybe that part wasn't so lovely) and finally read that 90,000-word merry_smutmas fic that's been on my "to read" list since December 5. (Incidentally, it's here and it's excellent.)
In other news, I decided to do that meme where you list 10 things you like that start with a certain letter. foreverbm gave me N. In no particular order:

Naked Brian and Justin
Nectarines so ripe their juice drips down my chin
Not having to go to work!

My Comments:
No matter how many times I watch this vid, I'm never quite sure I've caught everything the vidder was trying to say -- and I think that's a good thing because it means I'm always seeing new things in it. To me this vid seems a bit more abstract and less straightforward than most other vids, partially because of the lyrics (the song is the amazing but ambiguous "One" by U2) and partially because of the clips the vidder has chosen, which don't always fit the lyrics as neatly as you might expect. I appreciate the way this vid makes me not only feel but also think.
This vid works for me mostly through impressions and atmosphere, but if there's one particular "message" I take away, it's the idea of Brian and Justin being "one but not the same." Their differences mean these two hurt each other once in a while, but in the end there's something inseparable about them. That said, I'd be interested to hear if others have a different interpretation. :-)
