Like you I've never been much into the superhero culture, although recently because Aaron is and because we have Netflix, we've been doing the Marvel franchise and I have been enjoying the whole experience far more than I thought I would. I'd enjoyed the one Iron Man I'd seen, loved Guardians and Dr Strange, but was surprised at how much I enjoyed the rest.
I wasn't sure about Wonder Woman because I'm not much of a fan of Batman or Spiderman and have lumped her in with them but you have made me rethink that :) Especially since it is directed by a woman!
I have to say I never know which superhero is Marvel and which is DC, but from reading Wonder Woman reviews it seems like the Marvel ones have been much more successful and critically acclaimed of late, and WW has given DC a much-needed shot in the arm.
I'd definitely recommend you give this one a chance. It's got the kind of character development that too many action movies seem to lack, and I think you might like it. :)
