Recs: ST and HP Fic
Blargh, these are so overdue. *needs more hours in the day* I mean, several of these are holiday-related, that's how overdue they are. *headdesk*

Five Times Gaila and Sulu Saved Each Other by igrockspock (Gaila/Sulu, PG-13)
I was moved almost to tears by this fic. The friendship between Gaila and Sulu is a gorgeous thing, the sacrifices they're willing to make for each other. And I loved the little cameos by the other Enterprise folks, especially Jim.
Our First Christmas by screamlet (Kirk/Spock, McCoy, Joanna, PG-13)
This is hands down one of the best Christmas fics I've ever read. For starters, it's hilarious -- the author writes wicked banter, and any fic that can have me believing in Spock wearing a pair of antlers has to be doing something right, LOL. And it's less a shippy fic than a family fic, with all the absurdities and teasing and love that go along with it. (I'm a big sap, clearly, because my favorite part was how much Bones loves his daughter.) I smiled throughout this entire thing.
Partridge Fallen from the Tree by severinne (Pike/McCoy, NC-17, prostitution)
There's something so angsty and delicious about the idea of McCoy turning to prostitution in that desperate period before he joins Starfleet, especially when it's written as well as it is here. His encounter with Pike is beyond hot, and the subsequent conversation after their identities are revealed is full of emotional tension. An enthralling read.
A Trick of the Light by yeomanrand and shinychimera (McCoy/Jocelyn, Kirk/Jocelyn, Jocelyn/OFC, Jocelyn/OMC, NC-17, AU, prostitution, voyeurism)
This is so delicious. I love this sexy, happily polyamorous take on Leonard and Jocelyn's marriage, and then Jim enters the picture and the hotness factor suddenly goes off the charts. Supposedly a sequel to this is coming, which would totally make my day!

A gorgeous story about family, holiday traditions and the way we remember those we love.

Ultra femslash rare pair for the win! I really enjoyed seeing how these two might come together. Winona in particular is wonderfully written.
Queer Trek (or the Art of Oral Sex) by merkuria (McCoy, Sulu, Chekov, background Kirk/McCoy and Sulu/Chekov, PG-13)
Crack, delicious crack! Sulu and Chekov use props to give Bones a lesson in the art of blow jobs. (QaF fans, you will recognize the scene this is based on. *g*) Utterly hilarious.
Break Bread Together by celandineb (Kirk, McCoy, G)
This is a sweet little friendship ficlet written for me about Jim and Bones's first meeting at the Academy after the shuttle. Makes me smile.

Jim, Bones, boyish scuffling and shenanigans. A fun ficlet written for my prompt of "Where did you get that?" :-)

Trade by atdelphi (Filch/Snape, NC-17, AU)
Not into this pairing? I'm not either. But you should read this anyway because the writing is that good. It's an AU in which Snape is a Cambridge student and Filch is the plumber who comes to fix his parents' kitchen pipes. As you might suspect (at least if you've ever seen/read porn *g*), this scenario leads to sex, but there's so much more going on here -- class issues and Snape's coming of age/identity issues and did I mention the gorgeous writing? Also: HOT.
The Way They Held Their Eyes by woldy (Harry/Ginny/Draco, NC-17)
fkjasldfkhals;dfhasl;dfjasdfa Such a hot threesome, god. I mean, I love how solid Ginny and Harry's marriage is, and the emotional dynamics between them and Draco are interesting and well written, but yeah, most of all, this is hot. (Harry liking to take it, specifically. *moans*)
