Pairing: Yamapi/Original Character [girl]
Genre: Romance and AU.

Short Summary: High school drama. Original girl is foriegn and Yamapi doesn't like foriegn girls but she likes him.

Mary- Jane Carter was about to fight her first day at a new school, and of course, she was nervous as hell.
It had always been her dream to spend a year abroad in Japan and the day she got accepted was one of the best days in her entire life.
However, parting from her parents and friends hurt bad and the first day at her new “family” had been very strange and exhausting, even though everyone seemed to be very nice.
And now, she was standing in front of her new classmates. Everyone was paying attention to her, besides one person.
That guy was sitting in the last row, his head resting in his crossed arms, sleeping.
“Please sit next to Yamashita-san,” the teacher said, pointing at the empty seat next to the sleeping guy.
So, that guy's name is Yamashita.
Mary- Jane thought while walking to her seat, feeling the eyes of her classmates on her.
Woken up by the sound Mary- Jane made, Yamashita opened one eye and blinked at the new girl.
“Nice to meet you,” Mary- Jane said and smiled.
“Hm,” Yamashita answered and turned his head to the other side of the room.
Mary- Jane looked at his black hair confused.
What the hell is wrong with that guy?

During lunch break, one of her new classmates tried to get into touch with her.
“I love american rap, do you like that too?” Tanaka asked while playing with his necklace.
“Not really, sorry. I'm more into pop music, but my brother loves rap. Maybe he can send me some CDs for you.”
Tanaka nodded smiling.
“In which part of America do you live?”
Mary- Jane turned around. It was Yamashita speaking. He was looking at her in a very uninterested way, as if he had just asked her to be somehow polite.
“In California. Tanaka-kun told me a boy from this class is there at the moment as an exchange student, is that right?”
Yamashita's face turnded from bored to angry.
“Yes, Jin is there,” he said and left the classroom.
Mary- Jane watched him go. She was totally confused and looked at Tanaka.
“Jin is his best friend and he didn't want him to leave.”
“Ah..” Mary- Jane nodded and watched the classroom door.

Mary- Jane was lying in her bed, reflecting her first day at school.
In the end, it had been a funny day. Everyone had been very nice and corrected her mistakes very politely. After school, Tanaka even went to the karaoke bar with her. He had asked Yamashita as well but he had declined.
There was something about that guy she couldn't really figure out. She had done all her best to be nice to him but for some reason it seemed like he didn't want to give her a chance at all.
I have to try harder.
Mary- Jane wasn't a person to give up, especially not when it was about a cute guy like him.
Cute?
She had to admit. He WAS cute, with his brown curly hair and that serious face. He never seemed to have fun, she hadn't seen him smile just once during the entire day.
I wonder what his problem is?

The days past by. Without even realizing it, the first month had come to an end.
During that time, Tanaka and her had become real good friends. He always invited her to karaoke bars and helped her with her homework. And as the first attack of homesickness hit her, he had lend her his shoulder to cry on.
Yes, all that had been very nice, but deep inside Mary- Jane had wished for someone else to do all this.
She had tried so hard to become friends with Yamshita, but he had refused everything she offered.
The thought that he hated her grew bigger and bigger.
And that killed her, since the feeling that grew bigger and bigger inside her wasn't hate at all.
She was falling in love with him and every time he refused to talk to her hurt twice as much.

Mary- Jane was walking through the school hall, searching for Tanaka as she heard a well-familiar voice from around the corner.
“What are you talking about?” she heard Yamashita's angry voice.
Mary- Jane wanted to leave the spot but for some reason she couldn't. She wanted to know what made him so angry.
“Oh, come on! You have always been an awful liar.”
The other voice belonged to Tanaka, he seemed to be upset as well.
“I'm not in love with that girl!” Yamashita shouted.
In love? Had Mary- Jane just heard that right? He already was in love with someone?
“You can't fool me, the attitude you have towards her, it's the same you had with Kathrin.”
Kathrin? Who is Kathrin?
“Don't say that name.” Now, he sounded more hurt than angry.
“Pi, you have to get over that girl. It's almost two years now.”
“I am over her, I'm just not in love with Mary- Jane.”
Hearing that, her stomach started to hurt very bad. That was it, right? He wasn't interested in her. She felt like crying. She felt like running away. She couldn't do both.
“You're lying. The way you look at her, the way you ask me random things about her. Why can't you finally admit it?”
“Because. I. Am. Not. In. Love. With. Her!”
He walked away, bumping into Mary- Jane.
“What are you doing here?” He shouted at her.
“I...I was...was searching for Tanaka-kun.”
“He is there.” He pointed at the corner. “I hope you enjoyed our conversation.” And with that, he almost ran away looking angrier then ever.
“Have you been here the whole time?”
Mary- Jane turned around and looked into Tanaka's eyes.
“Not the whole time, I'm sorry for overhearing the conversation.”
“It's okay. I'm not the one who is mad, you know?” Tanaka smiled nervously.
“What shall we do about Yamashita-kun?”
“There is nothing we can do. He just has to calm down.”
Mary- Jane nodded.
“Can I ask you something?”
“You want to know about Kathrin, right?”
She nodded again and Tanaka told her.
“Kathrin was an exchange student from America two years ago. Soon after she entered the class, Yamashita-kun and her started dating. For one year, everything had been perfect and as she had to return home, they promised to stay in contact and Yamashita-kun really thought that this love was everlasting. At the beginning, they kept writing letters and talked to each other on the phone.
But one day, she stopped writing and he never heard from her again. He hates talking about it, but it hurt him deeply. He must have made a promise back in the days to hate foreign girls.” Tanaka looked at her sad. “Even though he has feelings for you.”

After school, Mary- Jane was waiting at the school gate. She hadn't really figured it out, she could just hope that everything turned out to be good.
As Yamashita passed the gate, Mary- Jane grabbed his hand and dragged him along.
“What are you doing?” He said angrily and tried to free his hand.
“You're coming with me, we have to talk.”
“Don't wanna. Let go!” He said.
Mary- Jane was dragging him into a passage, still not letting go of his hand.
“Why do you always behave like this? No matter how hard I try to talk to you, you always...”
“Because, I don't like you.” He managed to free his hand but stayed in the passage.
“Is that really the case? Tanaka-kun said something different.”
“He's lying. I don't like you.”
He refused to look at her.
“Then why are you so shy now? Why can't you say that straight to my face?” Mary- Jane's eyes were sparkling with passion.
Yamashita kept silent, looking at the wall with an angry expression.
“He also told me about Kathrin.”
Yamashita's facial expression turned from angry to sad. He had never seen such a sad expression on someone's face before.
“Don't...” he started but couldn't finish the sentence.
“Look, what she has done to you is bad and I know that it hurt you a lot, but I'm not her! I won't leave without a sign, I won't hurt you the way she did....please give me a chance. I know you're in love with me and I love you too.”
She paused, waiting for a reaction. She expected him to run away, to yell at her, to even hit her, what she didn't expect was Yamashita throwing himself at her and holding her tight.
As they finally parted, Yamashita had a smile on his face. It was a beautiful smile.
“I guess, we have to thank Tanaka-kun, huh?”
Mary- Jane nodded smiling and her smile got even bigger as Yamashita grabbed her hand gently.

Mary- Jane stood in her room, searching for something on her desk as suddenly someone hugged her from behind.
“I missed you, “ a well-familiar voice whispered and her whole body shivered.
“I misses you too.”
She turned around and looked into Yamashita's smiling face.
Instead of saying something else, he gave her that long passionate kiss she was craving for.
“Your hair is longer,” she said as their lips finally parted.
“Well, we haven't seen each other for quite a long time, right? Does it look bad?”
“No, I love it.” She took his hand and pulled him closer to her to give him another kiss.
“Have you organized everything for next month?”
“Almost. I can't wait to be back in Japan and I can't wait to study with you and to live together with you and to be with you everyday.”
“Neither can I.” His smile widened. “Finally, I can see you whenever I want, not just when we have money for the flight.”
He gave her a kiss on her neck and that touch made her spine shiver.
“It'll be great,” she whispered.
