Alicia strode purposefully onto the pitch. Her team was already in the air, and she clapped her hands twice. Immediately they moved into their first formation for drills. She threw her leg over her broom and joined them in the brisk morning air. They flew hard and Alicia was proud to see that the merriment of the hols hadn't thrown off their game.
When they were finished, Alicia called them all together on the pitch.
"Here's the deal, guys. There is a war coming. We all know it. We can feel it, and I'm sure that you're all worried about it. I would think less of you if you weren't. The thing with war is, unlike Quidditch, there are no winners." She paused, gathering her thoughts into what she'd wanted to say. "There have been whispers going around, I know, that maybe Quidditch should stop for the duration. I don't agree."
The team looked at her quizzically, and she grinned. "I think that our job as Quidditch players has just grown in importance, ten-fold. It is now our job to give people a reprieve from their worry. We are the ones who can help bring hope to the masses. Are we in agreement?"
Most of the team nodded vigorously, while the Keeper took a bit more time to think it over before nodding as well.
"Excellent. Next match is against the Harpies. Don't let their girlishness throw you off your game. The motto remains the same, folks."
Together the team cheered, yelling their motto. "Let us win, but if we cannot win, let us break a few heads."
"See you guys tomorrow for practice."
