the daily grind

Phew, life is busy, busy, busy!

House is probably not even a quarter packed, but we're getting there. I forgot how annoying it is to live out of boxes when you're preparing to move, I already can't find anything!  Why is it that you don't use something for a year but then as soon as you pack it away into a box you suddenly need it?  Story of my life right now *haha*. Hopefully I'll be able to get it together to have that garage sale in a couple of weeks.

Almost got our netball team sorted out. Really excited to start playing regularly again. Love subbing for the team I play with currently but I'm not called up every week, so ideally I want to be playing at least once a week. My new team will be playing on a different day so I'll still be able to sub, which will be great. Playing twice a week would be perfect.

Hmmm let's see, what else is new. Major disappointment regarding the Derby last weekend. The starter motor on Mal's derby car began to have issues at the 11th hour so we regretfully had to pull out. Our mate "Gus" pulled his car out as well, because he and Mal want to enter together because they have strategic moves played out, and Gus didn't want to risk wrecking his car in this one so he couldn't go in the next one.  Luckily we're all set for the "grand final" derby on 30th March. It's the last derby for the season so the prize pool will be pretty high.  After having to drop out of both the boxing day derby and this last one, to say Mal is champing at the bit to get out there and do some smashing is an understatement. So Sat the 30th is going to be a wicked day for us, it's going to be loads of fun and it'll be great to see if any of the boys "tag team" strategies pay off.

And now, for something different, here's a few more snaps from our honeymoon.
They're just phone pics, have been so slooooow getting all the pics downloaded and posted up. Still haven't d/led the ones from my good camera yet.
I'll get em on here ... eventually... possibly in 2014 or thereabouts =P

What I called "The Macabre Nichols Family Death Tour"
On our way from Byron Bay to Coffs Harbour, we drove through Lismore and Grafton, both of which are steeped in Nichols family history.
We visited multiple family graves to lay flowers (only two here but we visited about 5 I think) in multiple cemeteries.
The church above was designed by Mal's grandfather also.

Coffs Harbour.  Whilst very pretty, it was also kind of a hole. Nothing at all to do and not a lot of shops open after 5pm.
We had to beg the lady at the Chinese takeaway to stay open for us and make us dinner. It was like 7pm on a Tuesday.
We did go to The Big Banana of course though, this was the morning we left Coffs, I had my "breakfast of champions" (choc coated frozen banana)

More Coffs, just before we drove out of town.  We walked to the end of the jetty. It was a lovely morning.
Mal pretended a large submarine missile thing was his penis. Good times.
He also had fun playing around in the gattling gun.

Driving out of Coffs, we wished we could have bought this sweet lil machine for Gus.
Funny thing was, it had a V6 Commodore engine in it.

And that's all for now folks.
