Quite beautiful, however haunting. I take it your world seems rather closely linked to these... pokemon?

They were present long before we were, and our culture would be entirely different without them.

Interesting... I take it you come from another world entirely from my own. I'm afraid I've never really seen a pokemon.

[ A beat. He can't help but be intrigued though. ]

But what sort of myth is this, if I may ask?

It's a cautionary tale. Three very powerful pokemon make their homes in the middle of three lakes, sleeping in solitude. This story warns anyone against disturbing their rest by illustrating the consequences.

Interestingly enough, it doesn't mention the third pokemon's ability. I suppose they didn't have a good way to articulate a loss of willpower.

[ And he listens in silence. Could you see him, you'd note the nod of understanding. ]

Interesting to see that even across worlds, there are those who use tales such as this as warning.

If I may, you seem rather informative on the matter... your local folklore and such.

Well, back in the day, stories were told word-of-mouth. A lot of them took on a rather rhythmic or lyrical form so that they could be more easily memorized.

Thank you! I study it, in my free time. It's a great passion of mine.

And with such an extensive mythos, I can certainly see why it would hold anyone's interest.

[ Not gonna lie, it doesn't sound so different from the creation myths he's heard but that's what keeps it interesting. ]

I must commend you for making sure others know of these stories. After all, those oral traditions are oftentimes lost.

They're quite well known amongst children at home, at least. Although that may have something to do with me reciting them in an interview or two.

[ A laugh. ]

You seem to be quite the celebrity to have gained such respect. Sadly, youth seems to have fleeting interest in the old lore even though there is much to be gained.

Kids love me!

[A laugh.]

It just has to be relevant, for them. That's all it really takes.
