Bones and House

I watched altogether too much TV last night, then to top it off I dreamed about characters from House M.D. So this morning I'm tired and cranky w/ a side of headache. On the other hand, I do have a dash of "squee" seeing David Boreanaz in a new series. I have missed him so.

Bones looks to be a relatively decent series not varying too widely from its CSI-type roots. Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz have chemistry that balances very well between resentment and attraction. David's character, Seeley Booth, is a former Army Ranger Sharpshooter and current FBI Investigator. Booth seems to cover both the archetypal "Cop" character plus a bit of his old Angel mantle of redemption seeker. The character also breaks out of the stereotype somewhat by being more open to others both personally and professionally. Emily's character, Dr. Temperance Brennan, is somewhat typical of female leads in today's dramas. Cold, distant, brilliant, but with a tainted past. I like that some of her neuroses show plainly, but can only speculate about the direction this will go. I think my favorite character is the "best friend" role that Michaela Conlin fills as Angela Montenegro. She's started off well with spunk, heart and insight. We'll see if TPTB allow her to grow as her own character or limit her as a traditional side kick.

Last night's House? Love Foreman. Cameron is driving me batty. Not enough Wilson (by a long shot)! House rocks.

My dream... Cameron and the Cancer-lady (Candy?) ended up becoming best friends. Cameron was a bridesmaid at her wedding and ended up telling her about the Cancer after the ceremony in the limo. The freaky part is that it took me a minute the next morning to realize it was a dream and not what actually happened on the show.
