We thought it would be fun to start the process of getting to know each other a little bit more with a question every week. Welcome to SPL5's QOW!
Part A: What would be the best gift your secret pal could ever get you if time and money were not a problem? Why is that? What makes a gift really good? Part B: What did you last go to the LYS for and it not have on stock so you still haven't got it?
Part A: Back in SPLJ3, I admitted a love of the charcoal alpaca for a Josephine on knitty. :-D I've since broke down and bought a couple of sweaters with the belted silhouette. I guess I'd honestly squee if I received something they knit, like socks or a shawl for my cold office. That kind of time given is truly special.
To me the best gifts are the ones that show that you've paid attention to things I've said or offhanded remarks I've made about my longings. I tend to love whimsical gifts that are pragmatical too. They're just sort of a little out there, like the fleecy sheep ornament my SPLJ2 pal gave me that turned out to be a tape measure (whose head recently came off! D:) or the superawesome clutch I got last round for needled, but I carry as an evening bag instead. XD I am blown away by things that someone spends their time to make.
Part B: Not at my LYS, but I've been looking at 3 things a lot recently: harmony needles for sock knitting; a replacement sheep; and I really want a better spindle. I got a decent one off ebay that has a pretty good spin, but I love one that lasts longer.
Just a reminder: Please put your answers in a comment to this post! ;-) It's not like the questionnaire, so it doesn't need to be separate.
