This has been a very stressful and frustrating week (I've now ripped out the same hat four times - see
my blog for more details) but my entire day brightened today when I saw a package in the mail
I was so excited to open it up but I wanted to go slowly and enjoy the surprise a bit:
I was supposed to open the card before emptying the package... oops! But my pal kept some things secret from me a little longer by wrapping them in cute Santa tissue paper:
My son (who will be three in nine days) saw me snapping pictures and hammed it up for the camera a little:
She sent the cutest card:
(Outside it says, "Happy Thanksgiving from Your Secret Pal" and inside, "Your Secret Pal's just peeking in, then scampering away, Before you guess who's wishing you a happy Turkey Day!" so awesome!)
Then I tore into the wrapping paper and found some pretty awesome things:
A cute little S-shaped sticky notepad, hand-made adjustable stitch markers with yellow/orange/red beads, a bar of some of the coolest soap I've ever seen (and according to the packaging, the design won't rub off the soap even when I use it!), and then the yarn! Yarn that's orange and red and yellow (my favorite colors!) - it's KnitPicks Gossamer in "Rose Garden", a 100% Merino laceweight Wool. I can't wait to use it for my first real lace project (which will sadly have to wait until all my Christmas knitting is done).
Thank you so much, Knitting Faery! I love everything!
