Your knitting/crocheting habits & desires
1. Do you knit, crochet, or do both?
I knit. I know a tiny bit about crochet, but it drives me crazy
2. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have been knitting about a year and I would say my skill is intermediate. I learned a bit from my mom, and the rest from books and the computer.
3. What are your favorite yarns or fibers to knit with? What yarns/fibers do you avoid, dislike or hate? Are you allergic to any fibers?
I really like natural fibers, and would love to work with some alpaca. I use a lot of acryllics too, mostly Caron Simply Soft. I am not a huge fan of Red Heart for anything worn close to the skin but I have used it for other things.
4. What do you use to store your needles/hooks? How about your other tools, like stitch holders and point protectors? Where do you store your yarn?
I have a nice case for my DPNs and smaller notions, and a poorly made case I put together myself for my circs. My yarn is in two baskets under my bed, and my straight needles are there also.
5. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Do you have a needle preference-bamboo, aluminum, plastic, etc.? Any needles you’d like to try?
I like bamboo needles the best. I use mostly circs since I have a large set of them, they are very long though so not very good for smaller circular projects. I would like to get one of those interchangeable needle sets.
6. Do you own a ball winder and/or swift? Would you prefer to receive center-pull balls of yarn, if the person that has you owns a winder/swift and is so inclined?
No, I don't own either. I do appreciate center pull balls though.
7. Are you a sock knitter? Do you want to learn?
I am an okay sock knitter
8. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
I'm not picky I just like to be knitting something.
9. What are you knitting right now? Any current obsessions like socks, lace, felting, etc.?
I am finishing my Harry Potter Gryffindor Scarf at the moment. I just finished sock wars so I have been knitting a lot of socks.
10. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? What have you always wanted to try knitting/crocheting?
I have some knitting books on my amazon list. I just got myself a cable needle and would like to try and teach myself.
11. How old is your oldest UFO (UnFinished Object)?
This scarf is about 4 months old.
12. Do you have any knitting magazine subscriptions? Any that you love or buy regularly?
No subcriptions, I haven't read a lot of knitting magazines so I can't think of any at the moment.
13. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Of course.
14. Would you like to receive hand knitted socks? If so, what are your foot measurements? (Don’t give just your shoe size-measure around the ball of your foot and also the length from heel to toe.) Of course, giving this information is no guarantee that you will actually receive knitted socks. It’s just in case.

I love Lilac.

I love chocolate, or sweet and salty things like chocolate covered pretzels.

I listen to a lot of different music and I have an open mind about new stuff. Yes I can play MP3s.

I love turtles.

My dorm is pretty boring. I collect turtle things.

I love pink and earth/autumnal tones.

I would love to learn how to spin and dye my own yarn.

I live in my dorm with 1 roommate.
