Your knitting/crocheting habits & desires
1. Do you knit, crochet, or do both?
Mostly knit, but I know how to crochet as well.
2. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I’ve been knitting for a few years now. I learned from my mom then relearned a few years later online. I would consider myself intermediate. ☺
3. What are your favorite yarns or fibers to knit with? What yarns/fibers do you avoid, dislike or hate? Are you allergic to any fibers?
I like working with handspun merino wool the bestest. I love soft and squishy yarn and hate when it’s sticky or rough. I’m not allergic to any fibers that I’m aware of.
4. What do you use to store your needles/hooks? How about your other tools, like stitch holders and point protectors? Where do you store your yarn?
Various boxes, and a zippered case. My yarn is stored in large wicker baskets. Something I’d really like to make or buy (or receive ☺ ) are cloth drawstring bags in fun colors and prints to throw projects in instead of using ziplocks.
5. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Do you have a needle preference-bamboo, aluminum, plastic, etc.? Any needles you’d like to try?
I a circ convert and very very rarely use straight needles. I love aluminum the best. I just got my first set of addi turbos size 9, length 20” at a retreat and LOVE them.
6. Do you own a ball winder and/or swift? Would you prefer to receive center-pull balls of yarn, if the person that has you owns a winder/swift and is so inclined?
I own both and prefer to receive twisted skeins instead of balls. I wind them into balls when I’m ready to use the yarn.
7. Are you a sock knitter? Do you want to learn?
Ish. I have a pair I started, two at once/ toe up but put them off to the side a couple months back. I’d really like to commit to making socks though.
8. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
Hats, fingerless gloves, and purses/bags. I’m still working on a sweater but it completely intimidates me.
9. What are you knitting right now? Any current obsessions like socks, lace, felting, etc.?
I currently have on the needles: Another pair of fetching (with another to follow right after, my friends all want pairs lol), a sweater that will most likely remain there for months and months, a pair of socks (must finish these), Clapotis (I had forgotten about this. Darn! I think I’ll work on that this weekend), Rambling leaves shawl…I think that’s it.
I’m really taken with cables. I’d never done any cables before Fetching and was shocked out how easy it was.
10. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? What have you always wanted to try knitting/crocheting?
I really would like to pick up Big Girl Knits, and any good hat pattern books. I really enjoy hats.
11. How old is your oldest UFO (UnFinished Object)?
Mmmm…I have to look at my blog. Eeep! I started my sweater on May 8, 2006. That’s sad.
12. Do you have any knitting magazine subscriptions? Any that you love or buy regularly?
I don’t. I’ve only bought one, are they good?
13. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
I do!! I run a candle company so I definitely appreciate things that are handmade. ☺
14. Would you like to receive hand knitted socks? If so, what are your foot measurements? (Don’t give just your shoe size-measure around the ball of your foot and also the length from heel to toe.) Of course, giving this information is no guarantee that you will actually receive knitted socks. It’s just in case.
Ok just in case the ball of my foot is: shoot I’ll edit this later and put in my measurements.

I don’t.
2. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products, etc.) Any you can’t stand?
Lol I’m drowning is scents with my candles. I can’t stand Jasmine. I really like blends that are complex and unique. I lean towards scents that are fresh, spicy, sometimes a bit musky.
3. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy or snacks? Anything you would hate to get?
I’m vegan so that’s sort of complicated. If you can find vegan chocolate YUM!!
4. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (in case your buddy wants to make you a CD)
Music nurtures my soul and there isn’t much that I really don’t like. I love songs that you can hear the passion in. Yes, I can play MP3s.
5. What is your favorite holiday?
My birthday. ;)
6. Do you have a favorite animated character, animal, etc.?
Not really. I like them all. ☺
7. Are you into any fandoms? (Harry Potter, Buffy, etc.)

8. How do you decorate your room/house? Is there anything that you collect?
I try to keep things really clean and simple. I use Asian fusion influences, and try to keep nick-nacks to a minimum. Well except for yarn or knitting things. :P I do love office supplies. I don’t know why but a box of crayons or a new notebook really makes me happy.
9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? Is there a specific color family/palette that you enjoy knitting with or wearing?
I love color. Right now I really like deep, vibrant colors.
10. Would you like and use icons, layouts, banners or wallpapers? Anything specific?
I’d love some new icons for my blog, my candle company, and my podcast.

1. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? Dye yarn? Are you looking to try any of these, and which ones?
I love to spin just as much as I love to knit. I don’t have a whole lot of roving right now to spin but I do love it. I really want to get a wheel this year and try out dyeing my handspun yarn.
2. What is your family/living situation? Do you have any pets?
I live in Manhattan, in a condo with my boyfriend and our cat.
3. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens/gloves, slippers or ponchos?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, ponchos not so much. I do wear shawls.
