As the day of the party grew closer and closer, the anticipation grew in the Dong Bang house. Jaejoong was making more mistakes in his cooking and grinned more often, Yoochun lost more often his ball more often and played the piano every night, Junsu’s pitch had more slips and he jumped on various places of the house more often, even in weird places where you’re not supposed to jump like the roof or the stove, and Yunho was going more and more frantic trying to reschedule their appointments postponed by the party.

They all had fun, but a little remorse still lingers. Changmin was never seen again in the house. They would meet him at the job site, walked in together as if they had arrived together, and then split even before they could say goodbye to him. Jaejoong was on his last nerve thinking what to do to make his little baby come back to eat his cooking again, Yoochun and Junsu tried to lure him with new games and books, to which no avail came, and Yunho grew more and more frantic trying to reschedule their appointments postponed by the party.

Deep in his mind, he can’t shake off the growing guilt of how Min wanted to avoid all the festivities because of what he said. He grew more and more frantic trying to reschedule their appointments postponed by the party while his brain won’t stop screaming about Min.

He turned off the computer and was taken surprised at the reflection he saw at the dead screen.

“Changmin! I didn’t hear you came in.”

“Sorry, I didn’t know you were busy. Excuse me.”

“Ah! Min, please wait a mi-“

The door had already closed. Not wanting to make another mistake, Yunho quickly chased after him, grabbed Changmin’s hand just as he was going to went up the stairs to the roof.

“Min, please, listen to me for a minute!”

“Hyung, I need to learn. In silence.” He raised a book in his other hand, a really thick book.

“But, please, just let me-“

“No hyung. I want to go, now.”

“Minnie, just stay here for a minute, will you?”

“No.”

Yunho’s shock was plastered all over his face. It’s like Changmin had just slapped him silly.

“Now let go of my hand.”

“NO.” You’re not the only one who can be pigheaded, Yunho thought in his mind.

“Let, go. Or else.”

“Or else, what?”

Changmin raised his left hand, Yunho knew just by looking that the strength of the magnae’s slap combined with the book he held would be able to knock the lights out of him for three days straight.

But he wasn’t prepared when Changmin suddenly leaned in towards his face, closer and closer, they foreheads almost touched. He was sure his blush could make him pass as a giant tomato when Changmin suddenly whispered, “Good night.” And bit his left ear.

Yunho fell to the floor, his world went black.

Changmin’s Mind

Though I have to ask how Onew knew this secret technique, apparently it works wonders. I’m really sorry, hyung. I’ll let you sleep in my bed as my apology, trust me there’s more bigger space than enough to let you roll without falling over.

Oh, I’ll just put Bambi here, nicely stuffed to your wonderful chest. Ah, they are so wonderful.

But still, Jung Yunho, be afraid. Be VERY afraid.

The next morning, Jaejoong went to get everybody up, they were going to have a full day of activities, something that they were waiting for as they were getting bored from too much break. He knocked on Yoochun’s door, finding that he fell asleep in sheets of his new ideas, abruptly wake him up, and left to let him get himself ready. He knocked at Junsu’s door, dig around the endless stacks of pillows and shaken the dreams of him. He refused to acknowledge about the wet spot in Junsu’s crotch, and quickly left the duck to himself. He wished to God or anything above to give him mercy and let Changmin’s mood allow him to wake his dongsaeng up.There was a note stuck on the door.

Meet at job site.

Changmin.

Not again, Min. Why do you keep avoiding us? Jaejoong sighed in his mind. He was about to walk away when the door opened, and Yunho’s terrified face was behind it. Jaejoong had to muffle his screams into a high-pitched squeal.

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!!!!”

“Please don’t tell anybody. I don’t have any idea HOW I got in there myself.”

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!!!!”

“Oh my god, Jae don’t do this in the mor-“

WHAM! Goes Yunho’s head as the panicked-overly-alarmed-umma Jaejoong hit him in with a frying pan that, again, he produced out of thin air. He then proceeded to drag Yunho’s body out of the room and threw it to the sofa, closed Min’s door properly and quietly without even trying to peek, and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everybody.

///

“It’s 31st of October.” Their calendar said.

Junsu looked up from the TV screen. “Who said that?”

“Me. Your talking calendar.”

“AAAAA THE CALENDAR IS TALKING!”

Jaejoong walked over to him.

“What is it?”

“JAE, THE CALENDAR JUST TALKED!”

“Hahahaha. That’s funny Su.”

“NO SERIOUSLY I HEARD IT TALK!”

“I KNOW. That calendar does talk. We get that one in Japan, remember?”

“……Oh yeah.”

“Now let’s get breakfast.”

“Huh?!”

Junsu was too caught up in his game to realize that he had missed the night completely. He sighed, and followed Jaejoong to the kitchen. A familiar figure, however, had already sat on the table. A figure they hadn’t seen for ages.

“Ah, it’s Bambi!”

The little plushy was sitting all alone in a chair. They had approached it for an inch when a running figure swoop down on it and held it tight on his chest.

“Oh, there’s Yunho.”

And they proceeded to their natural routine, minus the youngest.

“It’s today.”

Changmin looked at the sky glumly.

“Why the long face, hyung? Fear that our plan would fail?”

Taemin asked him, total puzzled face.

“A little. But I believe in you guys.”

Changmin stated, making the whole group blushed even deeper.

“Okay, so let’s review the plan again for the last time, before we split.”

+++

The night came slowly, but when it finally fell the whole Dong Bang house was thrown into a mad rush by Jaejoong’s extra excitement. They all put on their costumes from the house and they all went out at the same time so that nobody can see other’s costumes first.

This rule excludes Changmin, of course. He has practically seen every single costume the others had prepared.

And they all went out of their room.

Jaejoong wore a pink shirt saying “I love cooking!”, an equally shocking pink apron, and a pink knee-length skirt, all with no earrings and his hair tight into a bun. Maybe he was trying to be a housewife, but somehow his whole outfit screamed “MANLY PINK!” all over the place.

Yoochun wore a simple black cape thrown over his best black tuxedo. His teeth were extremely white and his fangs stayed outside his mouth even when he closed it. He’s a vampire, no-brainer.

Junsu wore a Spiderman outfit, specially measured for him. The latex hugged his every muscle. He felt like he was going out naked in public. He can’t even breath properly without the mask on, since the outfit is so tight itself. His body, however, is more than exposed than it should be without causing anybody harms.

Yunho wore the outfit that the manager-sshi picked for him. It was a prince outfit, with the edged shoulders and blue tunic and black pants. It was bland, but extremely perfect on him, making him look like the sanest person in the whole house.

Changmin challenged the title by wearing blue jeans, simple green long-sleeved shirt and another brown sweater outside. Appropriate for the season, but not exactly something you would wear as a costume unless you’re playing as a run-of-the-mill university student. Jaejoong went furious.

“Min, where’s your costume?”

“Huh? My costume?”

“Oh, come on, don’t play dumb, we all heard about this event from a long time ago and we’ve been working our ass off trying to put on a nice costume and you haven’t wore it yet after all those hours you spend outside the house and leaving us alone and dongsaeng-less and we all thought you gave this event at least-

“Hyung, I’m not going. I got finals.”

“WHAT?!”

Before Jaejoong had managed to blast off to infinity with his explosion of anger, he saw something in Changmin’s eyes. Somehow, he knew that’s not supposed to be there. He quickly dragged Changmin into his room and locked it from the inside. 5 minutes of eerie silence filled the air as the other 3 members waited outside. Jaejoong opened the door after a few minutes, walked out of the door slowly while the door closes from the inside.

“Changmin’s not going. Let’s go.”

“But, but…” Junsu tried to argue, it wouldn’t be the same without his joke partner.

“CAR. NOW.” Jaejoong had got back on it’s euphoria again.

Everybody walked into the car, all decided that it was not going to be as fun as they had wished before.

///

Jaejoong’s Mind

Minnie cried. There were tears in his eyes.

He just said he can’t go, not only because of the finals, but because

///

Yunho felt a cold gaze from behind his back, he turned around, but his other band members were too busy with their own things. He decided it was only the weather, and he returned his gaze back to the road.

///

Jaejoong’s Mind

Him.

Because he told Changmin not to go.

Because he didn’t trust Changmin enough.

Because of the things he has to say, he just can’t say those simple words the easy way.

He has to let Changmin be like this, doesn’t he?

The dumbshit.

///

Jaejoong can’t help to glare evilly at Yunho, pretending to be occupied with his cell phone, camwhoring in it. He can’t stop it, even though he know he loves Yunho as a friend more than anything. But sometimes he get so plain dumb he just want to smack him dead with his pan.

As the car took off from the house, the air in the car went more and more tense, while the house grew more and more quiet.

///

“Status report.”

“Group 2 is setting up for Phase 1, while Group 1 is on their way there.”

“Perfect. Let’s begin Operation Kick Jung Yunho’s Ass, boys.”

“Roger.”

And so, ends the second chapter.
Be it known that the party starts at the next chapter! That's where the story starts to unfold...
