School went on as boring as usual, Junsu thought. He yawned through history, math, and the next thing he knew, it was lunchtime and he was still bored. He opened his bag to reach for his wallet, but then he felt something shaking, apparently his phone got a new message. He opened the message, and a surge of happiness went through his head. He couldn’t stop grinning, no matter how much Yoochun made fun of it, he just smiles and added another joke in.
He couldn’t visit the hospital during school days, so he had been exchanging messages with Changmin. He loved his phone more than ever now, it was like his royal messenger. He skipped dinner, didn’t eat the snacks, he forgot time until he realized it was morning again. He strode to the bathroom, half-skipping, and had a quick shower, before texting his final message before school.
“Aren’t you supposed to be sick? Go get some rest, will you?”
“Not without a hug.”
Junsu sometimes longed for the old independent Changmin, but then again, he loves him for anything. An idea flashed in his head. He snapped a picture of him making the pucker lips. He texted, “How about a kiss?” and sent it with the picture. He had to change his shirt because the reply made him spill his orange juice at breakfast and had blood from nosebleed all over his shirt.
It was a picture of Changmin, he shot it from above his head with, being the genius he is, the perfect angle that showed his neck and torso from the gap in his shirt’s neckhole.
“How about you skip school and tore this thing off my chest?”

The sun shone brightly, as with any other summer day. The beach was filled with people and kids were running around bright colored umbrellas where their parents lay, reading a book or just snoozing. Teens engage in a more vital ways of playing, with volleyballs bouncing all over the place and frisbees filled the air with swooshing sounds. The summer holiday means everybody having fun in the sun by the sea.
Two little kids were busy making a small sandcastle, or sandmountain for that matter.
“Choikang, this doesn’t look like a castle!” Shrieked the elder one.
“I know hyung, we still haven’t shaped it yet.” The younger calmly stated.
“Are you sure we can shape something out of this?”
“Yes hyung. Why don’t you get your red bucket? I’ll wait here.”
“Okay. Don’t go anywhere. ANYWHERE.” The elder stood up and ran to a nearby umbrella.
A frisbee flew out of control of some teens and hit the little boy by the sandmountain. He winced and said, “Ouch.” He returned it with glee to the teens.
When he got back, his hyung was already there, waiting with a panic face.
“Hi hyung.”
“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I WAS SO PANICKED I THOUGHT YOU WERE KIDNAPPED OR SOMETHING.”
“No, I was just…”
“DIDN’T I TOLD YOU NOT TO GO ANYWHERE? WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS BREAKING RULES? CAN’T YOU LISTEN TO YOUR ELDERS A LITTLE BIT?”
“But there was…”
“I DON’T CARE WHAT HAPPENED, ALL I ASKED YOU TO DO WAS TO JUST STAY PUT FOR A MINUTE AND YOU CAN’T EVEN DO THAT?”
“I’M SORRY, OKAY!” The younger now screams back, with even louder voice and teary eyes. He started sobbing, muttering “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” all over again. The elder sighed and pulled him into his arms. “Just don’t do it again, okay? I was really scared, there’s a lot of people here and you could get…Choikang are you bleeding?! OH MY GOD YOU’RE BLEEDING!! AUNTIE, CHANGMIN’S BLEEDING!!!”
Changmin passed out after that.

It was finally Friday, and the school is off tomorrow. He had waited for this day and eagerly waiting the final bell like a puppy. Yoochun asked him in lunchtime, “What are you waiting for anyway? You have a date or something?” and Junsu only smiled bigger. The whole class hooted, with most girls going “Aaaww….” Or saying “SHIT!” in hushed breath. He scrambled even before the bell finished ringing, much to the awe of the history teacher. “He sure can work his feet faster than his brain.” He muttered.
Junsu ran all the way to his house, following the woods trail that Changmin taught him. He went up to his room, saying “HI MOM” and “BYE MOM” under one breath, and took off in his bicycle. He pushed as hard as he can and when he reached the hospital, he realized he came in empty-handed. Shit, he thought, but what the hell, I just want to see him. He ran to the second floor instead of taking the lift but when he came in front of the door,
He saw a man, much elder than him or Changmin, snuggled fit with him in his bed. His heart dropped. The man looked like a senior from a high school, wearing a black hoodie and a gray shirt underneath, both hugging his body tight, implying the fact that he’s built. Changmin looked so comfortable in his arms, he already thought he had lost the battle forever, when Mrs. Shim came up behind him and patted his shoulder happily.
“Junsu! You finally came! Thank god, Changmin has been waiting for you since forever!” She ecstatically said.
Junsu chuckled a nervous laugh, “Really Mrs. Shim?”, following her getting in the room. As the door opens, the man and Changmin was a little bit shocked, but went relaxed again after seeing the figure of Changmin’s mother. Changmin, however, almost jumped in his bed seeing Junsu trailing after him. The man however, shot him an interrogating glare.
“Junsu! You finally came!”
Junsu was a little bit scared seeing how much hatred the man is projecting from his eyes. However when he heard his love’s voice calling his name, he couldn’t help to smile.
“Sorry I took forever to come. You know, school.”
“Hmph. Some friend you are.”
Junsu was a little bit hurt by the sting in the man’s sentence. But Mrs. Shim quickly retorted to that, “Jaejoong, be nice to him. He’s Kim Junsu, a good friend of Changmin. He really cares about my son, you know, so don’t you dare hurt him, okay?”
Jaejoong nodded, “Yes auntie. Okay.” However when Mrs. Shim went out to get a drink for everybody, he continued his glare. Changmin, however, oblivious from all the emotions flying in the room except for his own, grabbed Junsu’s hand and dragged him to sit beside him in his bed, pushing Jaejoong off. He scowled at this and went to sit in the sofa beside the bed. Changmin was so excited in seeing Junsu again, his face was so bright Junsu thought the UV from him could burn him to ashes. But he is my sun, for him I’ll gladly burn myself, Junsu felt a voice coming from his conciousness. He smiled back.
“So, how was school?”
“Boring, as usual of course.”
“Really? Did you snoozed history again?”
“Right through math.”
“Junsu, would it kill you to listen to the teachers for once?”
“No, but losing you would kill me, though.”
Changmin blushed, while Jaejoong scoffed at that notion. Junsu himself had no idea how that mush of a sentence came out of his tongue. Changmin suddenly looked like he just remembered something.
“Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce him. Jae, don’t get pouty, okay?” He turned to Junsu, “He’s my cousin, but he hovered around me long enough he could easily pass as my big brother.” Jaejoong put a smug grin on his face. “Or mother. You should see the way he nags, it really reminds you of an old lady.” Changmin continued, ever so happy at seeing the grin turns into a pout in Jaejoong’s face.

Junsu had spent the last three hours in heaven, chatted with the archangel while Lucifer is standing in the edge of the room, scoffing and scowling at every single little thing they laughed at. After the nurse ordered in a very strict voice, Changmin finally drinks his pills and went to bed, not forgetting to say bye to Junsu. He stayed a bit after Changmin fell into slumber, tucking him in. He was picking up his bag when a shadow blocked the sun’s last golden rays through the window.
“Um…hey.” He tried to break the ice, but in reality it was what the other wanted to slam him into.
“I don’t care who you are, what you are, where you are, if you dare, and I mean dare hurt my Changmin’s feelings, I swear I will hunt you down and slice you up and feed you to the ocean trenches.”
“…why would you think I would hurt his feelings?”
“Because, dumbass, who do you think he was waiting for that afternoon in the woods? He was still in his uniforms, mind you. Don’t you dare say you never want to hurt him.”
Jaejoong’s face was icy cold, freezing on the surface with boiling magma of raging fury underneath, seething and ever ready to sear anybody.
“That was the first and the last.”
“We’ll just see about that.”
Junsu walked out of the room feeling annoyed and aggravated by this Jaejoong person, stomping his way out under the glare of the aforementioned. Silence reigns again in the room until Junsu’s bike was out of sight.
“Do you have to say that?”
“Kangy, you know how I am. Sorry for being overprotective, but I just can’t let him go without a warning with so much nuzzling, and touching, and-“ He had goosebumps all over his body.
“Does it bother you so much that he likes me, or the thought of me being groped by other man makes you jeaaa~lous?” Changmin leered, he sing-songed the last word, making the other blush with a deep red shade.
“ARGH WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET SOMETHING ACROSS TO YOU?” He retorted in a groan.
“It wouldn’t be if you don’t make such a hassle of saying it. You always thought you talk better in action, while your center of gravity never stays in one place.” Changmin calmly stated the facts.
“…Your calmness annoys me greater than your snobbiness, little one.”
“ And your paleness is annoying my cute, tan body, like so many other things in this world. Take a number.”
Jaejoong has always remarked how easily his cousin can turn any arguments in his favor using his calm demeanor and innocent sharp tongue. He, however, didn’t intend to lose this one, just for laughs.
“Aww, does that mean I’m not the first in your heart anymore?” He said in a hurtful, puppy-eyed tone.
“No.”
“That was awfully harsh.”
“Nope, cold would be the appropriate word.”
“Aw come on, at least tell me who’s the first now.”
“Kim Junsu.”
Jaejoong’s smile disappear, a worried look now overtakes the throne in his face. Changmin took a more stoic look and shows no sign of emotion.
“You’re so gullible, Kangy. You’re sure he’s not just using you?”
“I am not gullible, I know I like him and he likes me back.”
“He left you in the woods. He’s the total reason you’re back in here, Kangy.”
“But I like him. Isn’t that enough reason to let me be?”
“I will never let you be alone with anybody except with me.”
“Hahaha, that’s a strange notion.”
“Not after what happened with him.”
“…Please don’t bring that up.” Changmin’s voice took on a weaker form, showing how he has memories he doesn’t want to remember.
“You give me no choice.”
“…Just. Don’t.”
“Kangy.”
“DON’T!”
Thunder suddenly befall the evening sky, the plummeting sun was suddenly covered in black, torrentious rain graced the city with its presence, washing away everybody who was still outside and umbrella-less.
“You know, your ‘lovey-dovey’ would get caught up in the rain. He can’t visit you next week if he has flu.”
“This is all your fault, Youngwoong. All yours. YOURS!” Changmin screamed, his hand on his ears, blocking every voice out. His face was pale, reddened with scream, but in a moment, it turns white again. He lost all of his energy from the scream, falling to his side, almost off the bed when Jaejoong quickly catches his unconscious body, failing to stop his own tears.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He sobbed, holding the faded body in his chest. Tears trickle down the sides of his cheeks, raining down hard on his shirt like the downpour outside halting the city lights.
///
Junsu just stepped in his room when the thunder struck so loud it made him jumped. The torrent came powerfully, he almost thought his window would break from all the water dumped from the sky. He opened his wardrobe, took off his shirt and changed. He dragged his beaten body across his room, flunked himself over his bed, and reached for his cellphone. He flicked it open, held his nosebleed, typed something real fast, and flicked it close again. Shouldn’t have put that pic as the wallpaper, he thought to himself before finding himself wafting off to slumber.
