Since we last left our heroine...
I drove 18 hours in a day, and got up here, to live in a shitty hotel for three weeks, since Shannon had to start work before we closed on the house.
We finally DID get moved into the house; with the help of my folks; and now everything is pretty much settled. It took us over a month to get internet, and we STILL don't have cable...but whatever.
I have been playing the domestic role a little too well. I will be comfortable doing this for a little while; but it will get boring rather quickly. I read about a book a day...right now I'm in the middle of a vampire series for lack of anything else to read. Usually I'm not super into "fantasy"...but these aren't so bad.
My doggy is up here with me right now; but I'm coming back to GA in two days; and bringing him with me, and he will probably stay, just cause it doesnt' seem fair to lock him up by himself all day, when I get a job, especially when he's so used to being with someone all day.
Even when we DO have to lock him up; he turns his water bowl over in protest; and that gets old...not to mention I worry about him dying.
The weather up here is amazing. We've only started to have temps over the 70's in the last two weeks....and it's almost the end of July. We have this kind of weather in Ga for approximately 30 minutes in April for one day.
My house is beautiful [pictures to come], and my town is so cute, and so perfectly middle America and quaint that if you stop to think about it too long you might throw up.
Shannon and I are already in the habit of going to the local deli every Saturday for lunch. Gotta support that Traer economy!
Here's what's different:
They don't have sweet tea up here
Or stew at the BBQ places
No Duke's Mayo
Or Sunbeam bread
Pepsi is more prevelent than Coke
and the water tastes like crap
BUT
you can buy liquor ANY time you want, even on Sundays!
Target, Walmart, and the Grocery stores have a FULL liquor selection,, not just beer and wine.
That is all. Love y'all! [I'm trying to preserve my southern accent, I like people askin' just where exactly am I from] and I'll see some of you next week!! MWAH!
