i don't know what to do if this doesn't work

As many of you know, algernon_mouse and I are co-dependent partners-in-crime. I wouldn't call her my OTP but that's only because I don't like to commit myself to one person like that. In the three plus years that we've known each other, it's rare for two days to go by without an e-mail exchanged. In fact, that usually only happens when one of us is physically unable to get to a computer.

But lately things have been different. Tigs have been dropped, posts aren't commented on, and, perhaps most tellingly, e-mails haven't been answered. That's not entirely true, she did e-mail me about one from last week and said, "I read your e-mail." One from this weekend about my asshole brother was never acknowledged.

It's really sad, guys. Unlike buckle_berry and cindyjade who are without their co-dependents this week, my co-dependent just doesn't care about me anymore. At least tarteaucitron and fitofpique want to talk to you two, and should be back in touch soon. Who knows when Mouse will acknowledge me again?

Being the logical person that I am, I decided to do some investigating and see if I could figure out how to win her back. I read some of her recent posts, investigated her del.icio.us, and thought about our most recent phone conversation.

Here's what I realized: There's no mention of greasy, barely legal, disturbingly skinny, emo boys who need someone to look after them in my LJ. So I did what any person in this situation would do. I set about writing some fic that would bring algernon_mouse back to me.

"Hey Ryan."

"Hey Brendon."

Ryan and Brendon sat on their tour bus couch together and stared out at the road passing them by.

"This sucks," Brendon said.

"Tell me about it," Ryan replied.

They sat like that a few more minutes. Everyone else in the band had already taken off their stage makeup and gone to bed. Brendon looked over at Ryan and saw a smudge of make-up on his temple. Without thinking, he leaned over and wiped it off with his thumb. At Ryan's questioning glance, Brendon held up his thumb and said, "You missed a spot."

Ryan smiled softly. "Thanks."

They stared at each other for awhile before Ryan finally said, "Hey Brendon, do you want to go in my bunk and make-out?"

Brendon jumped up. "Okay. But don't forget that we have to be really careful. I don't want to break your collarbone like I did the last time I rested my head on your chest."

"Yeah." Ryan agreed.

They headed towards Ryan's bunk as Brendon asked, "Do you ever think that maybe we should eat some more calcium, and go out in the sun every once in awhile?"

"Why?"

"I don't know, I thought maybe it would stop us from constantly injuring ourselves."

"Wow, I didn't think you could ever come up with an idea stupider than that time you said we should shower more than once a week but you just did."

"Yeah, you're right."

They made out in Ryan's bunk until the driver took a turn too sharply and Ryan accidentally punched Brendon's arm and broke it.

She also likes hooker aus but I don't miss her that much.
