This is one of my favorite Edgar Allen Poe poems, here he demonstrates a matery of language the likes of which are not seen too much in modern poetry. oh how i wish to become as good as he.
Thou wouldst be loved?- then let thy heart
From its present pathway part not!
Being everything which now thou art,
Be nothing which thou art not.
So with the world thy gentle ways,
Thy grace, thy more than beauty,
Shall be an endless theme of praise,
And love- a simple duty.
by Edgar Allen Poe
In other news, I've recieved one of the books that i'm published it called "Twilight Mussings", My poem is the first poem in the book. There is no alphabetical order by author last name or poem title so i'm not sure how Scarlet Rose ended up the first, but I was so excited to see that I was the first author to be read in that book. I am also published in another book with the poem Beautiful Siren, I'll probably order that book when i get a little extra cash.
