Personality Tests And Razor Wire

Oct 22, 2009 21:12

Last session, I told my therapist that trying to get through a job interview is like trying to climb a barbed wire fence naked.

Everywhere you look, there's something to snag yourself on.

Once one barb catches you, all the rest magically and magnetically cling to you like burs.

Trying to get through the personality test is even worse.

Personality tests are verbal razor wire.

There is no way to get through without getting shredded or at least a little cut up.

I imagine falling down the other side of the fence after finishing, looking up at your potential employer with a desperate wounded smile and asking "Will you hire me?"

What's next "initiations"?
