finally an update.....going to the motherland.
i haven't been on this thing in forever
i wont try to catch everyone up with what i have been doing. lets talk about what i will be doing!
well, tomorrow my family and i will be going to thailand and laos for the next 3 weeks. we might go to cambodia to see ankor wat. i hope so, cuz that would be quite a sight. it will be my very first time to go and to meet 95% of my relatives. i'm excited and nervous at the same time. i know i'll feel inadequate with my semi broken laotian language, and i'll probably seem like a wuss, because i know i'm not gonna be able to hang with the weather and the lifestyle there.
i had to be terminated from work because of this trip, but my boss said i can be reapply. i had to gravel to let him make that decision. the whole situation with that is a bunch of bullshit tho. o wells. mebbe i should try to look else where as well. this job isn't so bad and u can work overtime out the ass. that's always good. i've been working tons of overtime to save money for the plane ticket, spending money, as well as the necessities such as bills, food, gas.....
$1300 for the ticket, which is not bad for this time of year, according to my mom. i was suppose to save $1000 for the spending money, which would cover food, hotel, transportation...
yea, i scrounged up half of that, and $100 of it is going to one of my dad's dad, who is a monk over in laos. mom kinda bitched me out about it, but i've barely been working at my new job. with bills and buying things for the trip, i just didn't have that kind of money. i'm too damn broke for all that.
mom said not too pack much; like 7 outfits. the rest we'll get over there. shopping! not that i have the means to do that anyways. i'm just there to submerge myself with my heritage, history, and culture. i'm looking forward to see all the historical areas. i'll definitely take tons of pics to share.
we'll be leaving at 8am tomorrow, and the flight is at 10. the flight is going to be about 18-20 hours. we'll be stopping at japan for 4 hours, which is awesome! too bad i can't really venture out of the airport, but still...japan! it's one my my favorite culture, so that will be a treat. after that, we'll arrive in thailand, and stay there for a week and a half, take some cargo plane to laos, and stay another week and a half there as well. i'll be keeping a log for the entire trip, so that i may share the longest of the longest lj entry with u wonderful folks; pics included!
after my trip, i'm hoping to make a trip to see chandra. i miss her tons and it makes me sad that i haven't seen her in so long. i want to do lots of stuff over there; tubing, bats, caves, momoko!!! plan still in progress.
i guess that's all for now. i'm doing ok overall. still struggling with money, but who doesn't.
