There's this boy that works at the book store. He's always in the occult and science sections, constantly taking notes on things. Sometimes when I'm there I can't help but watch him... get so absorbed he wouldn't even realize that someone was standing right behind him. It's intriguing to see, really.... and the fact that he works there- shouldn't he be paying more attention to the customers and getting some actual work done? Hm.
When one of the other employees asked me if I needed help finding anything I nearly jumped in surprise.
Well, girls are always such a fountain of information. I found out that his name is Edward and he recently moved out of an orphanage - but he's worked at this book store now for three years.
Such a young age to start working... I wonder why he's not in school, instead.
Apparently, he's only fifteen and quite obsessed with this thing called 'alchemy.'
I've no idea what that is, but the word leaves a foul taste in my mouth.
He seems so... familiar.
I think next time I visit the book store I'll have to speak with him about his interest in alchemy. I've never seen such passion and devotion to one thing before.
For now... I think a glass of water and a nap will do.
