A most busy few days.
Setting aside matters of godliness for the moment, I have made an interesting discovery. I had not known that there were vans that drive around the town selling ice cream. Yes, yes, this will be old news to most people reading this, but I was charmed. So old-fashioned and traditional, like the water-vendor that walks the streets! And they have so many treats; the van we stopped at in Malta had the most lovely mango ice.
That I had not seen this phenomenon before shows how little time I have spent in the world lately. That is a fault, I think. And just lately I have spoken to London in the Nexus--some spirit of the city. I am so fond of London, and I have neglected it. I will try to be out more.
Also, an unrelated note, but Otto asked after the vampire melons and I can report that they are thriving. I don't know precisely how they become independent: traditionally, a melon or pumpkin becomes a vampire through being kept too long, but these have grown from seeds. I suspect that as they ripen and grow more vigorous they will simply shake themselves loose from the vine.
In matters of godliness I am dispirited.
