Tales from the Campkeeper

Camping was absolutely amazing! We brought way too much food, weather was in the 70s during the day and we had rain on our way up and on Saturday and Monday and we skipped out on canoeing (there's always next year), but damn it was fun!I was able to hang out with my K-Dawg all day, every day, I went snorkeling with Jer and Katie and I hung out and made sexual references in the deepwater w/ my funoodles haha. Jer worried on the way home that he ruined camping with my family for me, but honestly and unfortunately, I don't really see my family camping again any time soon. My mom doesn't like tent-camping anymore and we don't have anything to pull our massive RV :/

We left from Joe's house about an hour - hour and half later than we planned, but we got to the site around 5-5:30. We unpacked and set everyone up, chugged a couple drinks then walked down to the water for a slightly buzzing, night-time swim (This is when Sang pushed me in the water). (Prior to this, was when Sang couldn't remember how to get back to the site) When we got back they surprised me with a birthday cake that I had accidently and unknowingly smooshed, haha. On Friday, Joe and Sara came up. The weather was lovely so we pretty much just swam all day. Ryland made it's maiden voyage.. it was our waterborne mothership haha. I wandered off to the beach on my own with my camera and tripod at night and watched the sunset and the stars appear. Across the lake a bit some folks shot off fireworks. On my way back, I ran into Jer on his way to the bathroom before beginning his search for me. We went back down to the beach to look for constellations, shooting stars and satellites... 't was quite nice :)

Saturday was rainy and chilly so we skipped out on canoeing, but had a most delicious feast at Timbers on Cut River, played some card and board games and went swimming. Later in the evening, Joe, Rich, Kathy, Binky, Jer and I ventured down to play water valleyball and be pelted with needle-like rain, haha, The sunset that night was quite odd and beautiful.

Sunday was sunny, but still pretty chilly, so we decided no canoeing. Jer and I wandered around the campground taking pictures of our surroundings and each other :) We swam some, but after awhile went in because the water was so cold. Kristin, Joe, Jerry and I went out to buy a 1/4 cord of wood to burn all that night and replenish the booze levels. Kristin and I wanted to steal the cute kitten at the wood guy's house (at least I did anyways, haha). When we got back, we rounded everyone up, along with some booze, and headed over to the beach volleyball court. We played a couple games by ourselves and then took on another group of campers. Jer and I had a couple sweet set-ups and I had a sweet spike mwahahaha! That last night, only Joe, Kristin, Jerry and I sat around the campfire to enjoy the last huge fire.

I can't wait for next year... I think I'm even more excited for '10 than I was for '09 because now I know for sure what's in store... and I get to occupy the Jertent again haha

Since canoeing was unable to happen, I've been talking to Jer about trying canoeing at Stoney or Metamora. I'll have to check on the costs and see if we can afford it, but for now it's back to the real world... worrying about money.

I'm trying to save up to take more classes at Macomb, but I'd also like to pay off at least 80% if not all of my debt by the end of the year. I'm starting to think that I won't be able to make both happen and I'll probably have to postpone classes until the winter semester. I just really want to finish college and not have to worry about any more debt... until I take out loans for OU, a car and a house.

Things with Jerry are going pretty well. He's one of the few people (basically two) people that I feel I can completely be myself around and I don't believe he knows it but he stokes that drive in me a little more. I mean, I had that drive anyways to succeed, but now it feels even stronger. I want to go fulltime and finish college now instead of just taking classes when I can afford to and finishing whenever I do. The only thing that slightly annoys me is his wanting to pay for everything. He lets me pay sometimes, but most of the time I have to be Quickdraw McGraw about it, haha. I understand his reasoning and that he's being gentlemanly and I highly appreciate it, but he's trying to save up money as well. I'm not exactly sure where this is going, but I love having him in my life.. his insight and advice, his humor and brains, hugs and kisses, cuddles, laughter and his smile, the notes he writes to me in cards, his eyes... definitely his eyes. He's an amazing lad. We've only been going out for just under eight months and still trying to get our lives going, so I'm not really thinking abut marriage, but who knows what the future holds.. I definitely want to obtain at least my associate's and secure a well-paying job and for him to finish police academy and start his cop career first before we even start talking about anything marriage. Who knows, this could all randomly end tomorrow, but at least for now I'm loving every minute of it

~~~EDIT~~~
SANG WAS ALSO CAMPING AND PUSHED ME IN THE WATER AND GOT LOST.
Now quit your bitchin'
