day 20/21- final stretch!

Jul 17, 2012 01:03

It's day 20/21 since I made my-eye-only post for day 20, and I don't know if that counts or not.

I'm so done with waiting for Guild Wars 2, especially now that they've said things about the end game. I'm kinda thinking that I'll play the last beta on Friday, and then let people that I trust use my account to test the game out.

For those that don't know. Orr, the great holy nation that was destroyed just before Guild Wars 1, was risen by The Dragon Zhaitan. I have wanted to see Orr for /years/, and not only is it awesome, but the temples to the old gods are major pieces to the battles! And getting to the continent is done ON AN AIRSHIP! WITH BOMBER GOLEMS! WOO!

I'm so tired. Long violin lessons are too long. 1.5 hours is not a long time for say, playing a game, or watching a movie, or whatever. But 1.5 hours of playing music that is too hard to be fun is just NOT something I like doing. My normal lessons are 1 hour, and that makes a HUGE difference in how emotionally taxing it is.
Even so, I really, really like the new song I'm working on. It's crazy hard, but it's folksy, so it's... worth it, I guess. It's the difference between a really difficult project that you want to do, and one that you know "will be good for you." I tend to not finish the ones that are "good for me." So my "this is a challenging piece that Will Help My Skillz (tm)" is just awful to get through, but this new one that's CRAZY hard is actually fun. And has some things in it that I recognize in the Zelda piece by that one violinist on youtube. Whose name I will edit in later, if I remember.

There's a dice game called Quarriors! It's puntastic! Your mana is Quintessence (which actually makes sense), your money is Quarry... a bunch of the names start with Qu...
so yeah, it's fun for that. It's actually also a fun game; it's dominion-style deck building, with very similar mechanics, but with a bag of dice instead of a deck of cards. I really enjoyed playing it last week.

I'm so tired. Coming back from gruelling violin lessons is very, well. *passes out*
