I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but this list is worthy. I was listening to "Momentary Lapse of Reason" in my car this morning on the way to the last day of my soul-sucking job and I knew I needed to make a list here

First of all, hooray for a list. Makes me feel all "High Fidelity" and filth. But yeah, I have a troubled history with The Floyd. Here's the thing: everyone is still super hung up on Dark Side of the Moon. I don't even think that's their best album. I would go for Wish You Were Here because it has two of my favorite Floyd songs, "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" and "Wish You Were Here." But Pink Floyd is so dang pretentious half the time. They do the whole, "We're going to lead into this otherwise normal song with 6 minutes of droning synths. Why? Because we're Pink Floyd and we're here to mess with you." I do like quite a few songs by Pink Floyd but sometimes they frustrate me too much to listen to them. Does that make me a simpleton? Probably. But still, half the time I listen to Pink Floyd I get the sensation that they're messing with me just because they can. Every time "Time" comes on the radio I feel like Roger Waters is somewhere laughing at me. But maybe that's just me.

Oh, for shizzle. Top 5 lists make the music world go 'round. No problems here. It's just that almost every time I make some comment about how Dark Side of the Moon isn't that great or something, Floyd fans come out of the woodwork to beat me down. But yeah, go give Roger Waters a hug. And I do have "Meddle" and it is one of their more enjoyable albums. But saying you don't like Dark Side of the Moon is like when Peter from Family Guy admits to not liking the Godfather and everyone jumps on him for it. It's totally like that.

"Momentary Lapse" isn't a bad album, but not my favorite (it has some really dippy songs on it). Check out "Meddle," it's pretty sweet.
Roger Waters needs a hug.
And dude, this community was made for obsessive Top 5 lists!
