i saw someone die today, err well his dead body, we had just missed it happen by like a minute--no lie.
christina and i had wanted to grab a bite to eat after a day of surfing and beach, so we drove past zaxbys on A1A and decided that would be it. we past it just in case and turned about 2 minutes later to head back; as i was approaching zaxbys i see this traffic, and right there, in the middle of the road, laid an almost completely naked body, blood oozing out, brains and skin just smeared all over the ground. total shock! we didnt know what was going on or how it happened because we were just there! come to find out, from word of mouth, he was speeding down on his crochrocket (baddd idea to even own one) and hit the back of a car. im not sure of the complete details, but it was scary. everyone was yelling "call the police/doctor!" the police and ambulance came about 2 minutes later and we stood out there to watch the EMT guy check the mans pulse and make a hand gesture to signify that the young man, about 23 if i had to guess, was dead. so they put back the strecher and put a two sheets over him, which soaked in his blood. it was really sad and in just utter disbelief with what had happened.
all i know from all this and what ive learned is that life can just be taken from you in a second, no matter how perfect the weather is, no matter how much you think you are safe, you arent. just appreciate life, and everything you have now, because you dont know what the future may hold for you. live every day as if its your last. dont petty the little things that arent going to matter later on. lifes too short, enjoy it.
