It turns out that this was a good day for changes.
The new look of thus journal reflects some ideas that I have been pondering of late. The background picture is a bubble chamber particle trace - the journey of protons and antiprotons colliding in liquid hydrogen, an invention that gained Donald Glaser the Nobel Prize in 1960 - and symbolizes to me the collision of ideas and events in my life. Apparently random, the patterns that the collision of thesis and antithesis reveal the hidden meaning in their headlong flight. I like that idea. I wanted to be reminded of it when I read the random collisions in my friend's journals, and when I write about them in my own.
So. Changes. Collisions. Patterns emerging.
Enjoy.
