No, it's thought provoking. I didn't want to post comment without giving it time to breathe in me.

I guess it struck me that Kal would tell Chloe that he would let her leave him. Somehow, that's that difference that splits Clark Kent. I really don't think Clark could ever really let go of Chloe, although, he sure as well would try to. But when Kal said those words to Chloe, I believed him. Kal would let his self be split apart, the redK makes it somewhat tolerable, that he would wonder around through his days without the other half of him, because that's what Chloe wanted. If that were to happen, and Clark Kent came back, I can see Clark begging Chloe to forgive him and to start over.

It's not about the fact that Chlark had sex that allows him to suggest that she could leave him. He wants more from Chloe, but also wants to let her have a chance to say no, before it's too late.

Perhaps I make no sense again, but here it is. It's a wonderful story and filled with depth.

this is probably one of the best kaloe stories I've ever read. He was the prefect mix of Clark and Kal, and hardly anyone takes a romantic angle to it. It made me wonder if in canon, Clark and Chloe did indeed have an affair that summer. Wouldn't that be something?

It's rather hard to take a romantic angle to Kaloe, I must say. I tried and it seems like I succeeded from your comment.

Wow, it's rare to see a Kaloe ending this way, I didn't expect it, so it was such an awesome surprise.

I finally am catching up on some reading, and I'm sorry I missed this the first time around. I have a soft spot for Kaloe fic and this is on the top of my list. Complicated and angsty is how I like my Chlark with some optimism. You hit the mark with all three.
