WTF AWESOME AND SO BAD AT THE SAME TIME

Okay, so my mom calls me. And I just figured she's just going to tell me about what time I need to come up on Sunday to go meet my grandparents.

I did not expect this.

She starts off with "I got an email from Tomoko-san (old co-worker, friend of mine and hers) today..." And I'm all "Uh huh?"

And then she goes "Apparently, Akanishi Jin, was it? Was spotted at a downtown Los Angeles college campus."

Me: ".......................................... WHAT."

Mom: "Tomoko-san's friend goes to that college, and she was told about how they spotted him and he was instantly recognized."

Me: "I... honestly didn't think he could be that stupid. He's Bakanishi and I had an inkling, true, but STILL."

Mom: "Yeah, he's never going to learn English here." (Because LA has such a prominent Japanese community that there isn't that sense of necessity to learn English, so it's harder to learn English around here, although not impossible.)

Me: "Oh man."

Mom: "But they're saying he might not come back or something. Tomoko-san said she'd keep us posted."

Conclusion: Jin is really Bakanishi and my mother/Tomoko-san crack me up.

Before anyone shoots me: yes, it can still be considered a rumor at this point. I know this. But the concept in itself is mind-boggling, considering that KAT-TUN came to Little Tokyo a little while back and there was almost a riot caused by the fans. And no, I am not some crazy, delusional Akanishi Jin fangirl, and neither is my mother or Tomoko-san (srsly, that thought is frightening).

If he really is here to study, I hope that he survives and actually learns English. I wish him the best of luck as another college student. And I hope for the day he looks back on his Ha Ha lyrics and wonders what the hell he was thinking.

los angeles, mother, rumor, omg wtf, kat-tun, college, tomoko-san, phone
