Quality of Life assessments are an important aspect of many clinical trials, however what many patients may not realise is that if they write that they are suffering from extreme depression even if the research nurse has read through the form to check for errors they cannot act on this information as they are bound by statistics.
When did numbers start to take the place of patient safety? Why are researchers actively telling research nurses to, in this case, directly ignore patient needs for the sake of the trial. When did the patient, who has volunteered themselves for no monetary repayment, become unimportant against the grand scheme of things?
