"I hear people say bay-bee, so sweet..."

I've been getting songs stuck in my head all day. First it was that annoying-ass song "I Am Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, who is UGLY, then it was "Headstrong" by Trapt(?), now it's "Take Me or Leave Me" from Rent. I have weird taste in music, what little of it I listen to.

Break was fantabulous, so much so that I clearly had no time to update this thing. I spent half the week at home being utterly lazy, and half at UIUC, where a lot of my friends are. It was really nice to walk around all the places I used to spend my time, and see so many people that I hadn't hugged for so long. AIM and LJ are great, but they're just not the same as BEING there.

Let's see...what happened...I got to try my first Irish Car Bomb, went shopping at the bookstore with a friend and met her three guinea pigs, watched Boondock Saints, saw my first stripper (briefly...I realized what was going on and ran out of the room) and stayed in a fraternity (my friend JP lives in Triangle, the engineering frat, and I stayed in his extra bed, but hey, I can still say I slept in a frat!). I also tried out for a play with my old theater group, PDP, and got into one of the plays. Too bad I doubt I can actually participate, but it was fun anyway!

Oh well. I know I'm doing a lot better here than I'd be doing there, and it's not like I've lost the people most important to me there, as my visit proved. If I'd stayed there, I probably would have gotten involved in another stupid relationship or something, and slipped beyond all help academically. And it's not like I'm not happy here. I love my friends, I'll survive the room for another quarter, I'm doing better in school, and I'm mentally and emotionally stable. I don't want to let so much time go by before visiting UIUC again, though. All the more reason to get a car ASAP!

Today, my first full day back, was hectic as all hell, though. After classes, I finally got my employment stuff straightened out, and then went to the Mishawaka shopping district to try and obtain the material for my theater project. Unfortunately, I had absolutely no luck obtaining anything that I could possibly make a cool-looking dress out of. I'm going to try Walmart tomorrow- by the time I was done scouring the store, I had to hurry to catch the last bus back to campus. Now I have an insane nasty horrible headache, so I'm going to go medicate myself and study for awhile before passing out.
