I will now give my attempt at comments on the ending of 2008 and the hopes of 2009...adding closure to last year and making predictions in the this new year...yadda yadda yadda.
It's really hard to count 2008 as a year for myself. It didn't feel like a year. It felt more like 12 month conclusion to 2007. For me, 2007 didn't end on a great note. I was still reeling over the ending of what was the longest relationship I had ever had. I had just started a new job working for pest control once more. I hadn't done any major filming 2007. I just didn't feel like I had done anything in 2007...so 2008 was my chance to pick up where I had left off in several places in my personal life.
For one, I had started out the year with studying improv with the local troupe Face2Face Improv run by the excellent Eugene Banks. I filmed my first Matt Versus in a long while (Matt Versus The Christmas Tree). Andy Greider moved back in the apartment and helped me get back on my feet. Since the first quarter of 2008, I was able to be more free than I ever dreamed of. I met a lot of new people in 2008. I experienced great joys...in my personal life, in improv, and in filming. I was able to complete a few personal goals and set new challenging goals. I wrapped up with Matt Versus The Woods in early November...and it turned out to be a hit with a lot of people. It was a remarkable new start in the filming experience for both me and Caleb. Even though the year seemed to end on a down note with my release from Terminix, I still managed to have a great year.
The new year started with a small shock as my roommate is leaving in early February...and I still have yet to have found a new occupation. However, I have a few new possible roommate choices up in the air and a few hopeful places of possible employment lined up. In filming, I hope to film and complete a few more episode of Matt Versus and then begin on a more serious filming project which would give both Caleb and I a more serious accomplishment on our belt. I do have a project lining up to film a possible music video for a jazz musician in Huntsville (I'm really giddy about this opportunity and so is Caleb!). By the end of this year I plan have a short film project in the works. With improv, I plan to continue my strong commitment to the troupe and to Eugene by strengthening my craft.
I also hope to work more with some of my other budding filmmakers...Spencer in particular...in more collaboration work.
I also plan to become more stronger in my conservative views. I will be moving to Huntsville. I want to ultimately be better for my Father in heaven and follow Him in my daily life (I would like to get out into some hopeful mission work this year). I would also like to get back on the dating field...(course that assumes someone is interested).
I am extremely happy as Caleb and Lauren get closer to their wedding...I will plan to be there for each of them in anyway I possibly can. I am also extremely happy for Andy and Jania in their recent engagement to each other. Also gotta mention Nate and Dana in their engagement as well.
I originally planned to talk about how the world is going to hell in a handbasket...but I figure I will save that for another time.
