Looking for a new job at this time of year is killing me. I can only hope that I can make it over the hump and into 2009.
Closing out 2008, I can say that it hasn't been too bad of a year. A hell of a whole lot better than last...you know the one where I was dumped by my three year girlfriend gone nutty as a fruitcake. That turned out to have it's roots in medical understanding. It turned out that she had Lyme disease. Yeah, the kind you get from deer ticks. Go figure! I know what your thinking, no she still doesn't miss me, and no she ain't coming back. Besides, I'm having too much fun without her.
The plus from this year? Face 2 Face Improv. The local troupe out of Huntsville, AL. I've been following them around for years and begged Eugene Banks to give me a try. So far, it's been awesome, no idea when I will make the official players list yet. I'm sure I still have a while to go, but it doesn't bother me at all.
I have had the greatest opportunities to meet some great and interesting people in improv. A traveling Second City group and the traveling group from iO (Improv Olympics). I hope to one day continue my improv lessons in the big leagues in Chicago.
A few of my best friends got engaged this year. I'm very proud of them and I hope to be a part of the zombie horde known as 'the married' one day myself.
2008 definitely had it's rough start and it's downers. However, if there is a few things that I have learned, it's not being afraid...never giving up in the face of any adversity, and never underestimate the power of Ramen-In-A-Cup.
Until next posting...
