Another end of year meme
I am watching Sherlock finally!
I have got to read the stories so that I can work out how much is Doyle and how much is Moffat and Ritchie.

Morning Light
White Collar, Diana/Christie, Explicit (Gunplay)
This one's my favourite. I think probably the best as well. And the sexiest. It was also the hardest to write. I think that get caught up in the expectations of Kink Bingo or something.

I think I had the most fun writing this one. Morning Light was much more contained; I didn't have the opportunity to delve into backstories and make stuff up. This also changed my perception of the characters, because the original story did things that are not to my taste, so I had work out how they were to the characters' tastes. It probably gets the "Holy crap, that's wrong for you," marker, too. Even more than the gunplay fic; it deals with power and assumptions.
I don't think anything was a disappointment or a surprise. I think a lot about fics as I'm writing them, usually. And none gets much attention, really. None strikes me as particularly telling, but maybe Funeral Rights because the of intensity of the emotions.
Looking back, did you make more fannish stuff than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Much less than I wanted to. Less than I was expecting, less even than last year, but I'm not surprised.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you do that you would never have predicted in January?
I didn't really predict that I would write as much White Collar fic, certainly not Diana and Christie. I really wish that the ABC series Crownies had a fandom, because I have fic ideas. I didn't expect to like the show as much as I did. Also, Doctor Who! I loved that more than I really expect to.
But boy, my head first dive into Marvel Movie verse should not have been the surprise it was. I thought I would have fun watching the films, but I did not expect to find them delightful. And now there is fic and a lot of it is really fun, some of it is poignant and I love Steve being out of time stuff.
What's your own favorite story/vid/podfic of the year? Not the most popular, but the piece that makes you happiest?
I loved writing Funeral Rights, but that was never happy. Morning Light, I have to say.
Did you take any creative risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Wrote more kink fic! The issues I had with writing it were the same as other issues - blocking, pacing. I can do anything if I work through how to lay it out! This is what I learnt from What Jack Likes, as well.

Piece of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Ah, I never feel my fics are less appreciated than they deserve, although I always think that I should do better (for themselves, not for me, like I'm holding them back or something, not advertising them enough, or something).
Most fun piece to make:
What Jack Likes, because I had to make up the "Jack likes these things" bits. Lists!
Single sexiest moment:
I think, and I hope for others, where the scene is Morning Light shifts to being really hot for Diana as well.
Single funniest moment:
No funny last year. Although maybe the way the kids What Jack Likes are trying to save the weevils.
Overall Thoughts:
I want to write more fic. I think that I've learned more last year that will help with writing more. I have a few fics half done that I really want to finish that I know what supposed to happen in them.
Also I want to make more podfic!
