Back home

So... end of a brilliant holiday and home after a lengthy seven-week absence!
Laura - that guy Devlyn is plain strange. Was he really trying to make me nervous or just being remarkably silly? Because I fail to see how that hand thing could do anything apart from making my knee tickle... Though he was very funny. Wish you were here! (or vice-versa)

On the other hand, today was a lot of fun. Spent the morning with Cam and Cris and all day with Cris.

* spent ages with Cam debating on which agenda to buy, then settling on the soft ones so that w can use them for sleeping purposes
* went looking for sparkly school (hahaha, I wish) supplies
* found FLY-BACK GLIDERS
* bought three gliders, one for me, one for Cam, one for Cris (0.80 cent. Brillllliant!)
* spent most of the morning in the middle of Place Bellecour (ie. the largest square in Europe, excluding Russia) throwing the gliders from various places with various experimental methods
* went to look for lunch - flying the gliders in the cafe, then being major nuisances in Quick (equivalent for Emmerdeuses?)
* flew the planes some more, this time through Rue de la République (ie. Lyon's main street) - would you believe some people don't -enjoy- getting hit by wee foam airplanes?
* walked with Cam back to the metro (I think) while Cris and I went up to Croix-Rousse. Though we stopped in Croix-Pâquet and spent over an hour talking about The Boyfriend of D00mmm and looking for a "magazine"
* went foooooor ice-cream! But got distracted half-way by the wee "streams" behind the Opera
* made paper boats, named them and raced them down the streams
* realised a pair of wee boys were watching an started doing the same with bits of litter, so we sat down with them, taught them how to make boats and had a four-boat race. Wee boys called David and Joseph, both black, twins, probaby around six or seven. And they were really nice and funny!
* went for some Haagen-Das ice-cream
* got home and I gave Davie his present... Another glider!!
* went to play with the gliders in the backyard, only one flew too high and landed on top of the wall seperating us from the neighbours
* went to grab a step-ladder to hoist ourselves up and down, before realising it was too far to walk across the wall
* went back up to devise a new technique to bring it back down, eventually deciding to bring the step-ladder into the other yard and try and get it from there
* rang all bells at the intercom but no-one answered, though some smelly old bat gestured at us to get the hell out
* went back home, thoroughly annoyed, to find out that the wind had pushed the glider into the neighbouring yard
* tried to retrieve it again before giving up and deciding to go for a ride on the Carousel in Cordeliers
* did -not- realise Cris had found the "old McDonald has a farm" singing magnet, which was played all the way down on the bus
* eventually decided we needed more people to make the ride entertaining so went looking for the FINAL LAPINOT which I eventually found and will spend the evening imbibing.

What more has life to offer?
