[ Well shit. Did not count on this part when he wandered away from the Runaways house. Ugh, how many people in Desai have these fucked up science backgrounds? It's enough to make Victor want to renounce the field entirely- but.. that sounds a little self-depreciating. ]
[ Glances about before he discerns where and who the memory is coming from. Really not sure how to interrupt this, but people with these sort of memories need to be looked after, right? Clears his throat and calls to Tetora- ]
[Tetora is focusing on a person that had just passed him by, picking up on their own flashback as they passed, when he hears that call. Turning, he furrows his brow. Shit. And he can already tell he's grabbing onto this guy too.]
[ Flinches when the memory shifts. Marianella shrugs through the front door to a modest house Victor never lived in. She reacts with exasperation when she spots her son seated in front of the TV. Victor tries to hastily explain why he was up past bedtime, while mom fusses they've talked about this!! Doesn't he know he has school in the morning? You can't wait up for me to finish work every night. It's barely even an argument, ending in a hug from the guilty looking kid. ]
[ To be honest, present-day Victor's starting to feel guilty for these kinds of memories. Especially when they're butting heads with the really nasty ones other people seem to have. ]
[Tetora squints his eyes, staring at Victor after looking around like he's actually standing there in the room with him and his mother. Not knowing Victor beyond a presence on the network, he doesn't know the difference.]
[ Not sure how to react to this!! Definitely seen Tetora on the network, done his fair share of snooping into people's police records. Also saw a bit of Tetora's creepy past back there too. So isn't sure what the other boy's got planned. ]
um Yeah, she was. This stuff- It's just the rain, it's making people remember things. Once you're inside it should stop, so let me help. [ Takes a few steps towards Tetora. ]
[He turns away as he looks skyward instead. At least the rain's warm.]
That's what being a test tube baby gets you. It's never a happy life. 'least not where I come from. But, you can cry about it, or you can get fucking even.
[ There's some logic behind that, even if Victor's programmed to thou shalt not kill pretty strongly. Glances back at Tetora- that guy looks like he expects people to run away from him at every turn. ]
I hear you there.. a little, I guess. A friend of mine uh, seems to have kinda the same crappy upbringing as this. It's screwed up there are people out there who do this, so if there's some way to- fix it.
[ Looking hesitantly at the memory around them, eventually slipping back to focus on his own, his mother helping a reluctant Victor with some English homework. Wry smile. ]
[ Embarrassed, like he's the person who began this deception. Runs a hand through his hair and blurts out quickly. ]
But, it didn't happen. None of this is real. [ Groans a little, because that'll take some more explanation. Walks after Tetora, eyes averted with inexplicable shame for Marianella's fabrications. ]
She made this stuff up. My mom.. made up a whole life for us and then they programmed me to think it was real. Only the last two years are real, everything else is.. [ Pointing at the homework on the table. ] You can sorta tell- She's helping me with English, and she couldn't do that in my real memories, her English was never this good. The more of these I can look at the more- uh, plotholes I've noticed.

It's cool, I'm not invalid. But thanks.
[Don't worry, Tetora's watching you, man. He does thumb back behind them.]
You drink? There's a pub off a bit. I'm getting my fill of some of the shitty things people are remembering.
[Including his own.]

I'm underaged, actually, but thanks? Just thought you'd want help cause this.. [ Gestures to Tetora's memory around them. ] Seems like a lot.

So you don't believe in forgiveness?

Humans can be forgiven. Monsters have to die.

It's worth it to make sure things like this will continue to happen.

[It catches his attention, because 'programming' of a kid has different connotations in his world. He stops, turns and looks at Victor.]
You like me?

Depends.. are you a cyborg too?

[Tetora is griiinnning now, as he walks over and leans over a bit.]
