Linkara got the hell out of the way, leaving the opening for Terra's strike and wincing at the loud clang on impact. Stolen skin could only hide so much, evidently. He took the second's distraction to pull the Morpher from his pocket. There was a moment's hesitation - this hadn't worked last time - but he needed the boost, and he knew he could count on Terra to watch his back if it failed again. With any luck, this time it'd work.
He held the morpher out in front of him in a firm two-handed grip. "IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!"
And this time, it worked. Kind of.
The magic was intact, but it was off somehow - he could feel it. This wasn't what the Morpher usually did.
That fact became pretty obvious when the Morpher disappeared from his hands completely, only to be replaced with something else - a weapon with a shaft made of brick, and flames at one end and a hilt at the other, a weapon that looked familiar even though he'd never seen it before, a weapon that was unmistakably a Keyblade.
There was one very long moment in which Linkara simply stared at the Keyblade in his hands. How the hell did this even happen-
But he was in the middle of a fight, wasn't he, and this sure wasn't the time for thinking about that. He gave a mental shrug, figured he should run with it, and swung the Keyblade at Mechakara.
Reply
He stared at it for a moment and then looked up at Linkara to see that his friend had a new weapon. A very familiar new weapon that brought back a memory for Terra that made him want to mentally smack himself.
"No."
There was no way this was happening! Terra wasn't sure how Linkara had done it or how Terra had initiated it but somehow Linkara was wielding his own keyblade. Terra's eyes moved back down to the morpher, somehow he knew he could not bring his keyblade to bear right now but he was not going to be counted out of this fight just yet.
Without another thought Terra scooped up the morpher and continued a tradition that had been established a decade or so ago by five teenagers with attitude (not that Terra knew that, but he'd certainly heard Linkara say it enough). He stood up, putting the morpher in front of him and shouted, "IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!"
There was a flash of light and a surge of power (there might also have been a kickass theme song in the back ground), but when it cleared Terra was standing there with his armor on. At least, it was the same shape and style of his armor however, those that had seen Terra's armor before knew that it certainly wasn't white.
Terra didn't admire his new duds, instead he rushed forward and jumped OVER Mechakara. After landing behind him he promptly kicked him in the head.

He was not, however, ready for a Keyblade to the face.
The shock of the impact sent the robot stumbling back. Where had Linkara gotten that? There had been no indication, no records showing that he'd acquired such a powerful new weapon! And it seemed the morpher hadn't been forgotten either; by the time Mechakara saw it in Terra's hands, the human was already morphing into a suit of armor.
Well, it made no difference. Mechakara knew how to deal with the morpher, and he would adapt to the Keyblade. The robot squared his shoulders, bracing to intercept Terra as the man rushed towards him.
But he'd misinterpreted the human's intentions, as he quickly found when the human jumped and landed a blow in the back of the robot's head. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem, but the addition of the strong metal armor had the robot seeing static for a moment. His fists clenched in rage, and he would have liked to beat Terra to a pulp right there, but he knew better than to turn his back to that Keyblade. Instead, he rushed Linkara, trying to close the distance between them before landing a punch.

Plus, watching Mechakara get a boot to the head was just too good to pass up.
He didn't wait around to see the results of that attack - he was already on the move, lunging towards Mechakara for a low strike, swinging the Keyblade in a lateral arc that would, with any luck, hit the robot's chest. If it didn't stun him, it would at least be a distraction, giving Terra some room to move.

He clenched his fist and rushed forward towards the mecha-duplicate of his friend. It was timed perfectly, as Mechakara was thrown off again by the keyblade's strike. Terra ducked low and aimed several fast punches towards the robot's chest, his blows MUCH more powerful than Linkara's might have been given how much hand-stand pushups and heavy lifting Terra did on a regular basis. After several punches aimmed at the torso, Terra made to give Mechakara an uppercut to the chin.

The uppercut was the last blow. It dropped Mecha to the ground, causing the red lights in his eyes to flicker momentarily. He didn't have much fight left in him, and he knew it. He'd been caught off guard by these new tricks of magic, and now he was outmatched. But Mechakara would be damned if he ever showed weakness to these filthy humans. He would die before he backed down from this fight.
Slowly, chest still shooting sparks, the robot stood, murder in his eyes as he lunged forward for one last attack.

He stood firm, Keyblade held in a strong two-handed grip. "Are you ready, Terra?" he muttered. The same something that had warned him about the end of the fight was also telling him that, somehow, Terra would know exactly what to do, as would he.

The moment Mechakara lunged forward Terra flashed forward as well, his speed almost making it look like he had just teleported in front of the wounded robot. Terra once again pummeled his fists into the metal and plastic that made-up the Linkara-look-alike. He tried to focus on hitting any spot that was vulnerable. However, he knew this couldn't be ended by his fists alone. This was Linkara's enemy and really HE should be given the final blow.
At the last second Terra whipped around behind Mechakara and picked him up by the neck of his jacket. Suddenly, he was reminded of the baseball game Alice had proposed several weeks back. He looked past Mechakara to Linkara and shouted, "Batter up!" He then hefted the machine version of his friend up and pitched him forward.

Terra's movement barely took a split second before he was in front of Mechakara, beating the robot to within an inch of its life. It was an impressive show, just about impossible to miss, but Linkara still saw something else out of the corner of his eye - his Keyblade shining subtly, details outlined in white. He and Terra had hit on something special, working together like this, and Linkara had no doubt that it was what had lent the electric effect to Terra's armor and the speed and power to his blows.
And suddenly Mechakara was being lifted by his jacket, and Terra was calling to him. "Batter up!"
He'd been right about this. He knew exactly what to do.
Mechakara came involuntarily flying towards him. There was a split second where their eyes met, and Linkara allowed himself a split second's worth of self-satisfied, triumphant grinning. It's over, Mechakara. I win.
He swung the Keyblade hard - harder than he should have been able to manage, given his staggering inexperience with it - and heard the satisfying crack of metal on metal, the impact vibrating up his arms as he watched Mechakara, much worse for the wear, fly in a swift upward arc. "Going," he called, "going..."
Dramatic impulse struck and he turned away, slinging the Keyblade over his shoulder just as his robotic doppelganger exploded in a cloud of fire and smoke. That was it, then. Linkara had come out on top. This fight was over - finally, for good.
"Gone."

Some humans thought that robots didn't feel pain. But anyone who'd spent any real time around them knew that wasn't true. Mechakara swallowed the agony, refusing to cry out even as parts of his body cracked under the assault. He wasn't going to show weakness, not even as he was destroyed. Again.
There wouldn't be anyone to rebuild him, this time. He thought, maybe, that Judas would have at least tried, but she didn't have the necessary skills. He hoped the cyborg, at least, had killed a few of Linkara's friends. He hoped Judas had done better than he had. Suddenly, he was grabbed and thrown through the air, towards Linkara, and for a moment his still-glowing red eyes met the human's blue ones. The robot mustered up the last of his strength, meeting Linkara's prideful grin with his own hateful glare.
More than anything, he hoped this wretched magic city tore Linkara to shreds.
The last blow of the Keyblade took out Mechakara's visual systems. He didn't see the world dropping far down beneath him. He didn't see his fuel begin to leak from the shattered core of his body, igniting on loose-sparking wires.
And he didn't feel the final explosion.

He pulled the helmet part off, tucking it under his arm and looking to Linkara. He wanted a better look at the keyblade because he wasn't sure if it was real or just a strange side effect of this city. "Linkara...how...? What just happened?"
Reply
At Terra's question, he turned to face his friend, noting that the same white glow that was receding from the Keyblade was fading from Terra's armor as well. They'd been connected somehow during that last attack - he was certain of it. "I'm not sure," he replied slowly, thinking. "My guess would be backlash from too many types of magic colliding all at once somehow switched our weapons. It was pretty convenient how that all worked out, though." He paused. "Where I'm from, people call that the Rule of Cool."
He couldn't help but grin a bit. Now that the danger was over, he could appreciate just how cool that white armor looked. "How's it feel?"
Reply
Linkara didn't seem to be taking this very seriously though. In fact, he seemed amused by the whole thing which sort of bothered Terra. He knew this was a bigger problem, but he wasn't sure how to explain it to Linkara. Of course, he was then distracted by Linkara's question and Terra paused to consider the armor and power-up again. "Stronger and faster, mostly. More so than what I would usually get with my armor in its normal state." He paused and couldn't help but smile, "It feels good really." Plus, he looked like a white knight or something and that was ALWAYS cool in Terra's books considering how often he'd played at knights as a kid.
Reply
The smile was right back on his face when Terra talked about the power-up and admitted that it was - duh - cool. "Looks like the Morpher likes you," Linkara commented, looking the white armor up and down. "And of course you'd be a knight in shining armor."
Reply
Another thought surfaced as well, one that caused Terra's smile to falter slightly: 'The Master is going to be very unhappy about this.'
He shuddered but looked up when Linkara commented on the armor again. "I guess...I wasn't entirely sure it would work...but I guess it modified the armor I already possessed."
