There were a lot of things wrong with this city, and the sudden increase of vampires (Sora still wasn't quite sure how a person actually could tell the difference between one kind and other) didn't make it any better. Especially so close to the Bean. Having someone show up here and immediately be attacked - that had to be the worst kind of situation for someone not used to it. Sora at least was used to possibly getting jumped by Heartless and Nobodies when he arrived on a world, and he knew how to fight those.

He ran towards the park - even if Jason hadn't rallied everyone together for a direct attack, Sora would have ended up going anyway. The idea of people being in trouble had never been something that sat well with him - he only wished that his Keyblade was being more reliable. Even equipped with all of the extra things that were supposed to harm vampires, he would have felt a little better if he couldn't easily summon his weapon.

He came to a halt as he approached the BP Bridge. He'd wait. Three were better than one after all - although... well, he knew Terra could fight, but Alice? That made him frown, a determination rising in him to keep her safe. Maybe he could talk her out of it before they ran into the park.

Terra spied Sora standing at the entrance to the bridge. He had studied the bridge on a map and had not liked the way it twisted and curved, it would make it difficult to see head. He had thought about taking his glider across but that would leave the others without his aid or his keyblade.

And since he had found out Alice was to be on their team he did not want to take any chances.

He made sure his bag was safely secured, it carried the vampire slaying supplies in case his keyblade gave out. He had tried to say he didn't need it but Jason had insisted and Jason was the one coordinating everything. He looked Ven's age and yet Terra could see that he was very battle worn and experienced.

"Hello Sora. You ready?" He asked as he approached, eyes already glancing towards the winding bridge that was unsurprisingly poorly lit. The vampires were going to take every advantage they could.

Alice quietly and gracefully strode up to the two young men, a bright smile slightly dampened by the darkness in her eyes. It was getting harder to maintain her vegetarian lifestyle as the storm seemed to send all ghostly wildlife scurring to places she couldn't follow - but she couldn't let anyone know. Or rather, she was so used to not saying anything, even with everyone's casual acceptance, she couldn't bring herself to reveal the truth.

She winked at both Terra and Sora, knowing that both of them were probably having reservations about having a "normal" person along. But she supposed that she may have been the best person to have along, what with her knowledge from Jasper of how to fight. "Ready for this, boys?" she chirped.

Sora turned when he heard Terra approached, and a bright smile crossed his face as he nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready." He didn't summon his keyblade yet, but he was encouraged by the amount of anti-vampire ammunition that Terra carried.

When Alice came closer empty-handed, Sora couldn't help but give Terra a confused look. He knew that he was going to protect Alice, but she really wasn't making it any easier by showing up weaponless.

"Good," he said to Sora. He wasn't so sure Alice was ready to go as he watched her approach with empty hands. "Alice. Are you...sure you're ready?" He didn't want to think that Alice would volunteer if she didn't have something up her sleeve.

"Trust me," she replied, her eyes narrowing just slightly when she caught the look the two exchanged. "I know what I'm doing." Quickly glancing up at the dark and stormy sky, she added, "I can't leave this one alone - you guys need someone with experience here."

She knew that somehow, despite her best intentions to help without revealing what she truly was, she was going to have to end up telling them.

But not yet.

Sora still didn't look too convinced, but if Alice said she could handle whatever they were about to jump into... he'd just have to trust her. He nodded, determined, before turning to face the bridge again. During their brief conversation, they had already caught the attention of a group of the vampires and they were moving quickly - way too quickly - in their direction.

A brilliant flash of greenish-blue light surrounded Sora's closed fist as a familiar weapon appeared, far more quickly than the Kingdom Key - he still wasn't sure if it was because his latest keychain was made specifically from the city they were stuck in or if maybe the restrictions on magic weren't as strict anymore. Either way, the sleek, glowing saber in his hand lacked the typical detail of most of his keyblades - only the spokes at the end revealed that this was not a sword but a key. A glowing key that made distinct buzzing noises whenever it moved, but a key nonetheless.

Sora couldn't help but grin a little bit at the light weight in his hand - this still had to be the coolest thing ever.

He'd seen Aqua give him that look a few times, it was a look he knew better than to question or mess with. He still wasn't sure but...well he wasn't going to question Alice. He had a feeling she was a lot tougher than she looked. "All right, Alice. We're happy to have you along."

Not much more could be said on the matter as it appeared they had attracted the attention of the vampires now. Terra summoned his keyblade as well, it was much heavier and solid looking that Sora's, but he knew Sora had probably changed his recently. Terra preferred to just stick to his usual.

"Let's go" Terra said before charging up a Fire Strike attack and hurling the keyblade at the running vampires, instantly catching one on fire and burning it to cinders.

Alice watched as Sora and Terra took off running to the cluster of vampires headed their way, and quickly calculated the odds of this fight. Certainly, her premonitions would have been exceedingly helpful for knowing when and where to move, but there was an inherent sixth sense that she just couldn't shake. She'd have to rely on that.

Pursing her lips, she waited until one of the vampires sped by her, half-decomposed jaw opened wide, canines aimed at her jugular vein.

You'll be surprised by what you don't find, Alice thought amusedly as she moved with the same grace that allowed her to easily spar with Jasper, causing the vampire to skid harmlessly away. Don't tell me these things can't sense a pulse. Pathetic.

When the vampire leaped at her again, she dodged low to the ground with that same liquid style, slipping easily away from the creature's grasp. And, as Terra and Sora's backs were turned, she threw her arm around the Black Court vampire's neck, grimaced at the rotting smell oozing from it, and with a sharp tug, twisted the head one way and the body another.

With a sickening crack, the body crumpled to the ground.

He quickly reminded himself that Alice probably could take care of herself (this was Alice, after all), and it wasn't as if he had never seen Kairi fight. He nodded at Terra, and then ran after him towards the nearest cluster of vampires headed their way, the keyblade already rapidly swinging through his hand with a surprising light efficiency and balance.

While Terra's Fire spewed towards one of the vampires, Sora took a different approach, casting Blizzard on any vampires that came close enough, freezing various parts of their decaying limbs solid. The follow up swipes of the keyblade deprived said vampire of the icy limb, and Sora was trying very hard not to pay attention to the fact that he would shortly be surrounded by headless, armless, or legless vampires that still appeared far too human for his liking...

Terra caught the flaming Keyblade as it returned to him from the throw, the fires already dying down. Sora appeared to be using ice-based magic and was causing the vampires to crumble and limbs to fall off. A truly disturbing site considering how human looking they were...rotting flesh aside. Terra couldn't watch Sora for long as another vampire who had dodged the flames was coming for him.

The vampire tackled Terra, sending both of them to the ground. Terra swung out with his weapon and the impact managed to keep him from being pinned by it. They both rolled and Terra got back to his feet with the help of his keyblade. These creatures were strong, despite appearances, and he should know not to be caught by them. The thing lunged again but Terra managed to dodge, catching it in the back of the head with the keyblade and knocking it to the ground. Before taking his mission they had gone over the ways to destroy this type of vampire and while Terra didn't like it he knew his only option was going to be to decapitate the vampire.

"So uncivilized," Alice murmured as she darted away from a fingerless grab, wrinkling her nose. "Are these vampires or zombies?" Her speed wasn't anywhere on par with that would be the norm back home, but it was enough for her to slide out of the murderous hands of the putrid monsters.

Risking a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure Sora and Terra were holding their own well enough, she spun around just in time to find an unhinged jaw flying towards her neck. Grimacing at the spittle that splattered on her jacket, Alice used the vampire's forward momentum against it, moving just minutely out of the way and hooking the crook of her elbow around its neck.

She would have rather twisted the creature's head off completely, but without someone to pin the flailing limbs, she'd have to make do. With a sigh, she swept its legs out from under it...and then placed one stilettoed into the thing's heart with a well-placed stomp.

What a waste of perfectly good shoes.

"Terra!" Sora shouted when he saw the other Keyblade wielder get knocked to the ground. The speed of the vampires reminded him of lower-level Heartless and Nobodies, the kind that made up for their weak state by being faster than the eyes could sometimes follow. He was about to head towards him when one of the others took advantage of his momentary distraction, and slammed into him from the side, sending him sprawling.

Sora let out a muffled "oof!" as he hit the ground with enough force to knock the wind out of his lungs, finding the vampire painfully sitting on his chest. It made for reaching for the keyblade extremely awkward - there was no way he'd be able to bring it up in defense if the the vampire made a lunge for this throat.

He still didn't have enough air in his lungs to shout out a spell, and realized that maybe, just maybe, he may have been in trouble.

A second later the body dropped, the head most definitely removed from the body. Terra kept reminding himself that these were creatures and no longer human but it was difficult. He turned, first seeing that Alice was fine and then spying the real problem.

Sora.

His face paled and for a brief second Terra thought he was seeing Ven, not Sora. It didn't matter either way because a friend was in trouble. He couldn't just throw the keyblade as he had before because it might hurt Sora and he couldn't cast Fire because that might hurt Sora too. Terra reached inside himself for the power of the D-link and activated one that he knew would be able to helpful to Sora and would get the vampire off of him.

There was a brief flash of light around Terra as his D-link with Rarity activated and he pointed the keyblade at the vampire on Sora, "Gem Retriever." The spell name was different but it was essentially a Magnet spell to pull enemies closer. The vampire was dragged off of Sora and Terra didn't waste time rushing forward to meet it, striking out with his keyblade.

Alice heard rather than saw Sora hit the ground and she spun as well, eyes widening when she saw the vampire sitting on the boy's chest, its abnormally-twisted mouth aimed at his exposed throat. Even as Terra was calling forth magic, she was already running towards them.

A part of her realized that what happened next would be a really bad idea, but she hadn't volunteered just to sit back and let more people get hurt. So as the vampire was wrenched away from Sora by magical forces she couldn't see and another vampire was taking Terra's distraction as an opening to attack the older youth, Alice decided that some secrets really just weren't worth keeping.

Which was why, when she punched Terra's vampire hard enough for its head to snap back with a sickening crunch with a strength that was clearly not human, exposing its rotting spinal cord and nearly getting herself splattered with chunky masses of brownish blood, she didn't really regret it.

Yet.

Sora couldn't really think of a spell that would have gotten himself out of that predicament fast enough, but at least Terra had his back. A second before he would have found the vampire's teeth clamped onto his neck, the creature was flying away, pulled by some spell that reminded Sora of Magnet.

With the weight gone, Sora scrambled to his feet, breathing a quick sigh of relief... that immediately was caught in his throat when he saw the other vampire (seriously, where were they all coming from) launch itself at Terra's turned back. He opened his mouth to shout a warning or a spell, but never got the chance to.

Alice got there first.

For a moment, he only stared. The sudden display of strength. The speed that was completely inhuman. Glancing over in the direction Alice had come from, he saw that two other vampires were currently incapacitated - one with no head and the other... stabbed through the heart? Sora's thoughts were racing, but at the moment, he had no time to sort them out. He stuffed them into the deal-with-later category as he spun the keyblade around, light flashing with a powerful glow, to deal with another of the vampires that also seemed stunned at the sudden turn of the fight.
