[Avoiding the lounge chairs, the creature begins pulling itself up again, this time moving quicker. A few tentacles reach for Shard and Knives]

Knives grinned, "Steel is super effective?" She liked where this is going. It meant she could solve this in a really easy way. Even easier than trying to electrocute the fish. Which was good because water was everywhere so maybe using electricity would be bad. Knives pulled her blades and moved forward.

Also the electricity thing would be less effective as it was trying to pull itself out again. Maybe if it was out of tentacles it would be easier to deal with. That settles it, Knives had a plan now. Any tentacle that got within slashing range would be hers. Starting with the ones heading her way right now.

Shard frowned, looking around again. The lights could be dropped into the pool easily enough. So long as she was careful.

On the other hand, Knives was getting way too close to the pool.

On the third hand, the pool chairs seemed to annoy it, at least.

Shard started moving, staying low and using her powers to shove the pool chairs into the pool. "Keep it distracted," she shouted to the girl. "Be careful not to get pulled in. And when I say run, you run for it."
